Students in Year 7 read and annotated extracts from books about bees and their role in the environment, then designed a hexagonal tile to illustrate what they had learned about bees. They then created a 3D clay tile using different techniques as a response and painted it using block paints.
Students in Year 8 read and annotate a poem about Cramlington and the local area which links to their work in the 'Our Town project'. They then create an illustrated mixed media response inspired by the work of Norman Cornish, making reference to aspects within the poem.
Students in Year 9 read and annotated extracts from the Grayson Perry autobiography 'Portrait of the Artist as a Young Girl' They then designed and illustrated their own vases, in response to their chosen extract.
