 The Common Application

     Decision Plan

Early Action (EA) is a non-binding early application option.  Early Decision is binding, and Regular Decision is a traditional option chosen by the majority of college applicants.

Common Application

The Common Application is used for undergraduate admissions by over 800 colleges and universities.   Only schools that evaluate applications holistically are allowed to use the common application; that is, the admissions staff must take into consideration things like letters of recommendation and the application essay.   Nearly all top colleges and top universities use the Common Application.

If you are applying to one or multiple competitive private universities you must set up a Common Application student account, answer the appropriate essay questions, and request the required letters of recommendations.  Once you have requested your recommenders, students need to complete the CNEC Letter of Recommendation form, and resume.  Once complete, give these documents to your selected teachers and counselor.  Please give your counselors and teachers 4 weeks lead time to complete required letters of recommendation.  Counselors and teachers will then upload the required letters of recommendation to your Common Application account.
