Welding Experience
The Ag Welding team tests the welding ability of the team members. They must be able to weld in a variety of styles in order to compete. they must put together a resume and portfolio as well as fill out a job application. They must also create a project which will be inspected and tested.

The purpose of the Horse Evaluation Career Development Event is to develop the ability to evaluate equine animals. Students will work to evaluate various classes of animals and provide sound reasoning for their decisions. Teams will work together to solve problems and answer questions related to the horse industry.

Students competing in the livestock evaluation contest judge several different classes of livestock of each specie. Contestants are also given EPD's to help evaluate certain classes. They are also tasked with judging a class of keep/cull. There is a new team component, where two students on the team participate in a business component much like keep/cull.

The meats evaluation contest takes place in a meat locker. Members must be able to think on their feet while in freezing temperatures. The meats evaluation team grades beef carcass, figures out yield grades, identifies retail and whole sale cuts, judges beef, pork and lamb carcass. They also take a test on USDA rules and procedures relating to the meat industry.

The floral team is also a multipart contest. Members rotate through stations to cover each of the required segments. In the contest, students must take a floriculture knowledge test, identify common flowers and greenery used in arrangements, and finally, judge, construct, and give a set of reasons on a total 3 floral arrangements to an official judge.

Take Veterinary Science
In the veterinary science contest members practice the skills of a veterinarian. Members must take a general knowledge test on animals vital signs. They must perform three practicums that resemble how a veterinarian would administer medication or handle an animal. They must also identify animal breeds, parasites and tools.

In the vegetable judging contest, members practice demonstrating skills to be used in the crop industry. Identification of vegetables, insects, seeds, and transplants promotes gives members an opportunity to demonstrate their skills. Members must give reasons on four sets of vegetables further providing a way for members to explore future career opportunities.

Take a written test on finances in agriculture.
Take a knowledge test on the history and other information on the National FFA Organization
Contestants draw a topic on an agricultural issue and have a time period to prepare a 6 minute speech on that topic from information they have.
Each member takes a test based on farmer cooperatives.
Members draw a top, quote or word from the FFA or Agriculture and prepare what they are going to say for two minutes. They then give a one minute speech on that topic. They participate in this process twice for one contest.
Contestants submit a resume and cover letter referring to the job description each contestant picked before the contest. At the contest student submit a job application and go before a panel of three judges for a mock interview.
Multiple teams compete in this public speaking event going through the script of Opening & Closing ceremonies.
Present a chapter meeting and debate motions and other orders of operations from Roberts Rules of Orders.
Prepared public speaking contestants prepare and memorize a 6 minute speech on an agricultural issue. After they have finished their speech they answer questions related to their topic.
