Organized in 1968 by local citizens, the Ellis County Museum, Inc. is dedicated to preserving the history of Ellis County. The museum, which also includes the Heritage Visitor Center of Waxahachie, is housed in an 1889 structure located in downtown Waxahachie across the street from the Ellis County Courthouse.
Located along the banks of Waxahachie Creek, this 33-acre park provides areas for picnicking, exercising and playing. The park also serves as an entrance to our trail system. The numerous shade trees and historic Chautauqua Auditorium make this a must see place for residents and visitors alike.
