Today your child could choose a few known words in the message and figure out how many syllables or parts they can hear in each one. We do this by either cutting the word on our arm, clapping it or putting a hand under our chin while saying the word and thinking about how many times our chin bumps our hand! Thinking about syllables helps children break words apart for writing and reading.
Afterwards, they can try reading the message if they like!
