A large emphasis in Grade 1 French Immersion literacy is on sight words and sounds. A solid understanding of French sounds will help your child sound out words (decoding) when reading and when writing.
You can help your child practice their sounds by getting them to sing the songs out of their sound book, have them review past weekly messages, create memory games with the sight words, use magnetic letters, ect....
