A New Chapter Together
Dear School 1 Families,
As I begin this new chapter as the principal of School #1, I find myself feeling incredibly grateful, excited, and a little humbled by the opportunity that lies ahead.
After 26 years in education and the last ten years as a principal at School #16 in Clifton, I have learned that every school has its own heart. That heart is made up of its students, families, teachers, staff, traditions, stories, and the surrounding community. I bring experience to School #1, along with an open heart and a desire to listen, learn, and get to know you.
This first year will be about just that: getting to know School #1. I want to learn the names and stories of our students, get to know our families, understand what makes our staff so special, and become part of the School #1 community. I want to hear what you love about our school, learn about the traditions that matter to you, and understand where we can continue to grow together.
A little about me… I have spent my career believing that children do their best when they know they are loved, supported, challenged, and believed in. I began my career as a special education teacher and later became a principal because I wanted to make a difference not only for individual students, but for entire school communities. I am also a mom, a daughter, a lifelong learner, and someone whose faith is an important part of who I am. I believe that God often places us exactly where we are meant to be, even when we don't fully understand the “why” at first.
I have always loved the idea that new chapters don't mean leaving the old ones behind; they mean carrying everything we've learned into something new. As I close one chapter and begin another at School #1, I am bringing with me the relationships, lessons, experiences, and memories that have shaped me as an educator and a leader.
I am looking forward to learning from you, celebrating our students, building relationships, creating new traditions, and discovering together what makes School #1 truly special.
My hope is that our school will always be a place where children feel safe to be themselves, excited to learn, encouraged to take risks, and confident that the adults around them believe in them. I want our staff to feel valued and supported, our families to feel welcomed and heard, and our students to know that they belong.
A new year. A new chapter. A new adventure and a new opportunity to grow together.

Located in the Middle Village section of Clifton, directly across from CCMS and Clifton Stadium, School One proudly serves a diverse community of 254 students. Our caring and dedicated teachers are committed to fostering the social, emotional, and academic growth of every student. School One offers a variety of programs designed to enrich the educational experience while promoting social awareness, respect, and a strong sense of community.
These programs include, but are not limited to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and a rigorous Talented and Gifted (TAG) academic curriculum. At School One, students have many opportunities to develop a true sense of pride and belonging. Our mission is to help our students develop into critical thinkers capable of making a positive impact on the world around them. Our motto is, Together WE… S.O.A.R. as ONE because we pledge to remain Safe, Open Minded, Ambitious and Respectful as we navigate the educational experience together.
