In line with the previous year's arrangement, the availability of universal "free lunch" District-Wide for the 2023-2024 School Year has been affected due to the recent expiration of the Child Nutrition COVID-19 Waivers issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
To facilitate participation in the "National School Lunch Program," it is mandatory for all families interested to complete the "Lunch Application" form, conveniently accessible through the District Parent Portal. Should your student(s) have qualified for the "Free Lunch" Program during the 2022-2023 School Year, complimentary lunch service will be extended for the initial 30 days of the academic term. Subsequent to this initial 30-day period, the completion of the Lunch Application form is requisite to continue receiving lunch services.
In addition, according to Clifton Board of Education Policy 8550, “In the event a student’s school lunch or breakfast bill is in arrears in excess of $50.00, the student will continue to receive lunch or breakfast and their account will be charged accordingly. The Principal or designee shall contact the student’s parent to provide notice of the amount in arrears and shall provide the parent a period of ten school days to pay the full amount due.”
