My name is Chase, I'm 24, and I'm from Cape Cod, MA.
I got into fitness in high school, trying to get a competitive edge for school sports. I got a gym membership and would go to the gym after soccer and lacrosse practice.
I started being limited by my strength, and skill could only get me so far. Being faster doesn't always work in contact sports, so I started to try to get bigger and stronger.
My weight stayed steady at between 135 Pounds and 145 Pounds for years through college.
I was able to get a little stronger and more defined, but I wasn't able to make any drastic changes.
Fast forward to the present, I've weighed as much as 240 pounds, I now maintain my weight at 180-190 pounds.
Keeping track of my diet was an essential step that I never put time into in high school. Once you start to leverage your nutrition the right way with your exercise, you are able to make sustainable changes.
If you told me in high school that I would have ever weighed 240 pounds I would have laughed. But I did, and could again.
The bodies capacity for change, and growth is pretty amazing.
I've always loved going to the gym, even when I was making no changes, just because of how it made me feel afterwards. I felt more awake, more confident, and nothing is more rewarding than when you are investing in yourself, and a healthy future.
Exercising has many more benefits for me than just visual. You may be surprised, the gym may do for you what doctor's cant.
I've struggled with a sleep disorder called "Central Apnea" that causes me to wake up dozens of times more a night than the average person. It's difficult to treat, but a good lift and cardio have helped my sleep more than any doctor has.
Down the road, I'd like to open up my own gym, and be able to hire like minded fitness professionals to create a unique environment that people actively WANT to be a part of.
I have so many friends who get into the gym, and absolutely love it and rave about it the changes that it's made for them. We have a tendency to become sedentary because of work, or a busy schedule, but once you start noticing the benefits, it's not something you'll want to stop.
Fitness can feel like a chore without the right motivation, and direction and the gym can seem like a daunting environment, but I want to change that perception, and show people just how much capacity they have to succeed.
Thank you for reading, and I hope to hear from you soon.
