Coping Tools for Students and Teachers
Take advantage of nice weather and meet outside. Wear your mask and practice social distancing, use common sense, but do get out and meet up in small groups.
Set up your home workspace and create your routines. Make sure the things that help get work done are available, such as a distraction free work space with a designated desk area stocked with your favorite items. Make the workspace and routines work for you.
Plan joy into the day. Read books you like, work on hobbies, go out and shoot hoops. Encourage parents to make sure students have the resources they need to unwind and have fun.
Speak out. If you need help with something, don’t be afraid to ask. If you are being challenged by feelings of depression or anxiety, reach out to someone to talk about these issues.
Take care of yourself. A touch of selfishness is called for in this situation. In order to provide support to students, it is important to care for yourself, there is a limit of what we can do for others if you are depleted.
