Counseling Services


Agape Christian Counseling Services

With a mission to improve the accessibility of mental health services, Agape provides affordable professional Christian counseling. Serves individuals, children, adolescents, couples and families. Locations in Olivette, Lake St. Louis, Florissant and South County. Accepts most insurance and offers sliding-fee for those with financial limitations.

Saint Louis University counseling clinic provides affordable counseling to empower people to face life's tasks with confidence. Counseling services are open to the public. Masters level interns - supervised by faculty - provide services. Conveniently located on SLU’s campus.


Center for Trauma Recovery

UMSL provides clinical services - usually short-term cognitive behavioral therapy - for children, adults, couples, families or groups who have experienced a traumatic event.


Children's Advocacy Services of Greater St. Louis

This program, through UMSL, is a university-based, multidisciplinary center that provides high quality trauma-focused services to youth, families and the community. The center's goals are to promote resiliency, physical safety, and emotional stability through comprehensive research, forensic, clinical, educational, and advocacy programming.


Community Psychological Services

This program, which is run through the UMSL Psychology clinic, provides affordable psychological evaluation and counseling services for children, adults, couples and families. Ph.D. interns – supervised by faculty – provide services. Conveniently located on the UMSL campus in Stadler Hall.


Kids In the Middle

This program strengthens family relationships by providing quality, affordable therapy, education and support to children and families coping with divorce and other transitions. Located in Kirkwood.


Lutheran Family and Children’s Services of Missouri

They have several offices in the St. Louis area, offers counseling on a sliding-fee scale and sometimes for free with a referral. If interested, please ask your child’s school social worker or counselor for more information.


Provident, Inc.

This program offers sliding-fee scale counseling in several locations in the St. Louis area. For first time appointment information, call 314-533-8200. Also offers the Life Crisis Services hotline at 314-647-HELP.

LGBTQ+ Support


Bisexual Alliance of St. Louis

BASL (basil) is a social networking/ social support group that aims to connect folks who understand that bisexuality is a normal part of everyday life. Anyone is welcome who considers themselves bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, don’t-label-me, etc. as well as those who are allies. Their goal is to develop a sense of community and mutual support within the St. Louis metropolitan area.
