Class overview
Welcome to an exciting year of exploring our world through geography! This year, our students will embark on a journey that covers key units including the foundations of geography, cultural geography, migration and movement, and human interaction with the environment.
Students will have the opportunity to delve deeply into a place they are particularly interested in, enhancing their learning experience by focusing on what truly captivates them. Our approach is interactive and engaging, featuring a variety of fun activities, problem-based learning scenarios, and challenging puzzles that will not only educate but also inspire your children.
Our curriculum is designed to be comprehensive and stimulating. It covers everything from understanding the basic concepts of geography to examining how humans and the environment influence each other. We believe that by making learning enjoyable and relevant, we can foster a lifelong interest in geography and the world around us.
We are looking forward to a fantastic year of discovery and learning. This Google Site is under construction as we shift curriculums. More will be added as we continue to develop and find resources.

About Dr. Miller
I am a graduate of the Clayton School District and very excited to have returned home. I graduated from Northwestern University with B.S. in Education and Social Studies. Before coming to Clayton, I taught in the Hazelwood School District. I also have my Master's from University of Missouri-Columbia in English Education with a concentration in Journalism Education through their online program. I have completed additional hours in history and education through Webster University and University of Missouri-Columbia. I recently completed my doctoral degree in education through Antioch University.
I have taken a number of professional development courses through Clayton - including Lab Classroom, Adaptive Schools, Google Certification Level 1, and Cognitive Coaching. The district initiatives around equity, social-emotional learning, and problem based learning are all important and are also an important part of my planning and curriculum design.
My family is really important to me. I also love learning new things! Currently, I am working on doing more animation and mastering that skill! I also love to knit, do art, read, write, stay active, and garden. You can find out a bit more about me here.
I look forward to an excellent and fun year of social studies!
