Intro To law and public Safety ( Level 1)
Introduction to Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security provides students with a foundational understanding of the legal system, public safety, and emergency response. Students learn basic legal principles, citizens’ rights and responsibilities, and the structure of law enforcement, corrections, and security systems. The course also emphasizes professional skills such as communication, ethics, conflict resolution, and career planning, while introducing practical skills like report writing, first aid, emergency preparedness, and fire safety. Additionally, students explore a variety of careers in law enforcement, corrections, emergency services, and public safety, gaining exposure to real-world job expectations and the pathways available within this field
Criminal Justice Essentials ( Level 2)
Criminal Justice essentials students get a deeper look at how the criminal justice system works and the roles within it. The course begins with the historical origins and overall structure of the U.S. criminal justice system and immerses students in criminal and constitutional law concepts. Students also learn and review basic law enforcement skills and explore how police interact with communities and apply laws ethically. The class often culminates in a mock trial, giving students a first‑hand experience of courtroom procedures, and encourages participation in career‑focused organizations like SkillsUSA to build leadership and career‑related skills.
Forensic Science and criminal Investigations ( Level 3)
In Forensic Science and Criminal Investigations, students learn how scientific principles and investigative techniques are applied to crime solving and the criminal justice process. The course teaches students to use scientific methods and tools—drawing from chemistry, biology, physics, and other disciplines—to analyze evidence and understand crime scenes. Students practice important skills such as preserving and documenting a crime scene, identifying, collecting, and processing physical evidence, and applying scientific reasoning to investigations. Through hands‑on lab work and real‑world problem solving, students also explore how forensic evidence contributes to criminal investigations and legal proceedings, preparing them for careers in forensic science and related fields.
With my hands-on experience in corrections, policing, and probation, I am able to bring real-world examples and practical knowledge into the classroom. This helps students understand the material more deeply and contributes to their success, resulting in a 100 percent passing rate on the End of Pathway Assessment (EOPA) and/or industry certification tests. By combining practical experience with industry-recognized certifications, students complete the pathway confident, prepared, and ready for careers in law enforcement and public safety.
