Mundy's Mill High School, part of Clayton County Public Schools, maintains comprehensive and clearly communicated emergency procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all students, staff, and visitors. Emergency protocols are visibly posted throughout the building and are reviewed regularly to ensure awareness and readiness.
The school conducts monthly safety drills, including fire, severe weather (tornado), and active shooter drills, to help students and staff become familiar with evacuation routes, shelter-in-place procedures, and lockdown protocols. These drills are designed to build confidence, reduce panic, and ensure a swift, orderly response in the event of a real emergency.
In addition, faculty and staff are equipped with emergency alert badges that allow them to instantly notify school administration and first responders if a threat or urgent situation arises. This immediate communication system enhances rapid response and coordination during critical incidents.
Mundy’s Mill High School also collaborates closely with district safety personnel and local emergency agencies to review and update procedures regularly. Through consistent training, visible safety resources, and proactive preparedness measures, the school demonstrates its strong commitment to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for the entire school community.
