The Law and Public Safety Pathway at Mundy’s Mill High School is designed to prepare students for success in the fields of law enforcement, criminal justice, corrections, emergency response, and forensic science. The program’s goals are to help students explore a variety of career options within public safety while developing a strong understanding of the U.S. legal system, criminal law, and justice procedures. Through hands-on learning experiences, labs, and real-world simulations, students build critical thinking and practical skills needed to perform effectively in law and public safety professions. The pathway emphasizes ethical behavior, professionalism, teamwork, and community service to promote responsible citizenship and leadership. In addition, the program equips students for post-secondary education, technical training, or entry-level employment opportunities in the field. Students are also encouraged to participate in leadership organizations such as SkillsUSA and to prepare for the End of Pathway Assessment (EOPA) and other industry certifications that demonstrate their career readiness.

Collaboration with Counseling
The counselors and I coordinate to share program information with parents and students during parent night, orientation, and family engagement events. This helps ensure that all stakeholders understand the academic expectations and career opportunities the pathway provides.
I work with our MMHS counseling team, our CTAE Leads, and the Work-based Learning Coordinator to connect students to postsecondary programs, dual enrollment opportunities, internships, and career experiences in the field of law and justice. Together, we ensure students graduate with both academic preparation and real-world readiness.
