Back to School Forms
Click on the red checkmark to follow the link in order to fill out all the required online forms for Back to School. These must be updated yearly. Once the parent complete the forms, students will receive an email. Each student will then need to verify they have read the student handbook. If you have questions, please call the high school office.
This summer the state passed a total ban on cell phones during the instructional day in all Ohio Schools. Family support is essential to the success of Claymont High School's cell phone policy, which can be found in the high school handbook or by following this link. Be sure to review the phone policy as a family. Consider:
Proactively talking with your student about after school plans, lunch planning, appointments, or activities in advance of arrival to school.
Reminding your student how they can reach family during school hours, and how you can reach them in case of an emergency through the school office.
Emphasizing the importance of adhering to school rules regarding the cellphone policy to ensure consistency in expectations between home and school.
Visiting http://education.ohio.gov/cellphones for more information and resources about cell phone use for your family.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in facilitating a safe and supportive learning environment. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
School Safety and Cell Phones
It is reasonable for families to want to be able to quickly contact their students or have students contact them in an emergency. But during an emergency, when students and families are trying to call and text, it is likely to be less safe. The use of cell phones by students could decrease school safety during a crisis. Consider the following:
Use of cell phones by students can accelerate the spread of misinformation, rumors, and fear.
Cell phones could ring or vibrate at a point when students need to be quiet for safety reasons.
Students on cell phones are likely less focused on listening to adults for directions on how to respond and stay safe.
Cell phones can lead to families arriving at the school and make it more difficult for first responders to facilitate safe evacuation and tactical and emergency response.
Cell phones can delay or hinder timely and efficient family-student reunification and potentially put families into a zone of harm.

The information will be passed on to them at the first home school meeting at BCC. It is very important that we have all seniors at this meeting.
Also- stop in the rotunda on the first day of school to get a "Last First Day" picture taken!
On Thursday, August 14th from 10am- 12pm, incoming freshmen can come to the high school to pick up their schedule and walk the building. If they are unable to make it, they can also get schedules at the Open House on August 19th. This will just give them an opportunity to see the building without the large crowd.
Stop in the rotunda on the first day and have a "First Day of High School" picture taken!
NEW Interactive Video Board
Claymont City Schools is proud to announce the establishment of its new Athletic Wall of Fame, celebrating the outstanding achievements and contributions of its most esteemed athletes,
teams, coaches, and contributors.
The Athletic Wall of Fame will serve as a permanent tribute to those individuals who have made a significant impact on the school’s/organization’s athletic programs. Inductees will be selected based on their exceptional athletic accomplishments,
sportsmanship, leadership, and dedication to the Claymont High School athletic program.
The inaugural class of inductees will be introduced on January 9, 2026 during a special ceremony at Claymont High School, between the junior varsity and varsity boys basketball games.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and celebrate the achievements of these remarkable individuals.
To nominate an esteemed athlete, team, coach, and/or contributor, please complete this form.
These “Wall of Fame” members will have their information on the digital display board that will be located in the lobby of Claymont High School gymnasium. In addition, this digital board will include the photos of all of the “All Ohioans,”
Claymont High School academic information as well as Alumni Award winners from the Claymont Foundation.
Are you interested in getting your high school yearbook immortalized in a digital format? Would you love to look at the past 60 years of yearbooks of Claymont High School? As part of the new Interactive Video Board we are working towards scanning all of the previous yearbooks so anyone visiting the high school will be able to walk down memory lane! If you are interested in sponsoring your graduating class yearbook, a donation of $75.00 would
be appreciated. Please contact High School Principal Kelsi Barnhart at kbarnhart@claymontschools.org
for additional information regarding sponsoring a yearbook. We look forward to having all of these scanned for future generations!
Claymont Aultman-Orrville School-Based Health Clinic
We are implementing the Hope Squad this year! Thanks to a generous donation from the Grant Kindness Foundation we are able to start this incredible program.
What is Hope Squad?
Hope Squad is a school-based peer support program designed to prevent suicide and promote mental health. Students are nominated by their peers and trained to recognize signs of depression, suicide ideation, and emotional distress. These student "Hope Squad" members then serve as a bridge between their peers and trusted adults, encouraging open conversations and connecting struggling students with professional help. The program emphasizes kindness, inclusion, and creating a safe, supportive school environment. Eight teachers were trained this summer to be advisors and will be working to get this up and going to help support all of our students!
If you are picking up or dropping off your student at school, please abide by the following:
Use the parking lot on the west end of the building, near the gym entrance. Please do NOT drop off in front of the building, that is reserved for buses.
Park in a spot to wait for your child and don't sit in the fire lanes at the side entrance. This is against fire codes.
Bus riders will be released 3 minutes earlier than the drivers and pick up students. This allows the buses to get through McCauley Drive and get to the other buildings. Buses should always have the right of way when leaving the parking lots.
Buckeye Girls State
This summer Cora Dotts represented Claymont High School at the 2025 Buckeye Girls State program along with over 600 young ladies going into their senior year from across the state of Ohio. This year's week-long program was hosted at Bowling Green University, which is designed to educate Ohio's young women in the duties, privileges, rights, and responsibilities of good citizenship. By getting involved in the process, Delegates of the program learn more about city, county, and state government. This 78 year old program is sponsored through the Ohio American Legion Auxiliary where Cora was selected through an application and interview process. We are so proud of how she represented CHS and she was also able to share her musical skills for one evening of special entertainment with the audience!
