Mrs. Megan Miranda joined Classical Prep as the new College Counselor in January of 2026.
Mrs. Miranda holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Northern Illinois University and a Master’s degree in Poetry from the University of Iowa. She has taught at the collegiate level at institutions such as Victoria University (New Zealand), the University of Arizona, and the University of Iowa.
Mrs. Miranda has worked on both the development and assessment side of standardized testing. She has created test content for numerous states in language arts and writing for grades K-12. She has also assessed state-required writing tests for FL, CA, NJ, TX, and IN, among others, as well as the written portion of the SAT when it was first introduced by the College Board.
Mrs. Miranda is the proud mother of two Classical Prep scholars who have attended CPS for eight years. She is excited to serve in the role as college counselor, helping students and their families prepare for college and navigate the different components of the application process.
COLLEGE COUNSELOR
Support 11th-12th grade scholars their families by:
serving as the first point of contact in regard to grades, scheduling, class concerns, and academics for scholars in grades 11-12
providing information and guidance for scholars and their families in grades 9-12 in regard to:
college decisions and applications
Bright Futures and other scholarships
ACT, SAT, and/or CLT test prep and registration
connecting with scholars weekly by grade level and conferencing with scholars and parents as needed
collaborating with the administrators and teachers to monitor scholars’ academic progress and provide strategies for success

Mrs. Alicia Clayton began her journey at Classical Preparatory School in Fall of 2017 as a high school English teacher. Since that time, she has served as Assistant Dean of Academics, Instructional Coach, Dean of Academics, and now College Counselor.
Mrs. Clayton earned her Bachelors of Arts in English from North Greenville University and her Masters of Education in Secondary English from Vanderbilt University. She also completed 18 additional graduate hours in English courses at the University of Mississippi and has her Reading Endorsement.
Prior to joining CPS, Mrs. Clayton taught at the #1 high school in Mississippi as well as North Greenville University and Saint Leo University. She is so excited to work with high school students and their families as they navigate preparing for college and all that it requires.
Mrs. Clayton is currently working part-time and transitioning out of the role of College Counselor during the Spring 2026 semester.
