The cost of higher education is one of the top concerns amongst parents and students. Colleges and universities vary in costs within the public and private sectors. Yes, college can be expensive, but there are MANY opportunities for students to limit, if not eliminate, the out-of-pocket expenses associated with attending college.
Simply put - the answer to whether you can afford college is a resounding YES!
Planning is simple - make the plan, work the plan, but start now! Our programming at CPS is designed to ensure that students meet the minimum requirements for taking challenging courses in preparation for college. Getting funding takes planning and small chunks of time over the duration of high school to be done well.

NOTE: A common misstep is NOT planning for the duration of a college degree. You need money for four to five years. Renewable scholarships are important, as well as, making a realistic plan. It is critically important to understand the impact of all types of financial aid, specifically - Scholarships, Federal and Private Loans, Federal GRANT Programs, and Federal Work Study.
If your scholarship application requires a letter of recommendation, please refer to the guidelines for requesting a recommendation and give your teacher plenty of time to complete the request.
