The Board wants to hear directly from the people who know CAV best: our families.
How You Can Help
We are inviting you to write a brief letter sharing what CAV means to your family. Your letter doesn’t need to be long or formal—in fact, the most powerful messages come straight from the heart.
Not sure where to start? Consider sharing:
Why your family chose Classical Academy Vista
How your child has grown academically, socially, or personally
A specific teacher, program, or experience that made a lasting difference for your child

Monday Fun Options
NEED HELP TEACHING HISTORY?
A/B and C Track students in 1st–6th grade are invited to use TCA History with Mrs. Broyles, a history course designed to make teaching history at home easier, engaging, and enjoyable.
The course includes video lessons, read-alouds, differentiated assignments, optional hands-on crafts, and extension videos. Lessons are coordinated across grade levels, so families with children of different ages can learn the same history topics together while completing assignments appropriate for each child’s grade level.
To add TCA History with Mrs. Broyles to your student’s Schoology dashboard, use the access code:
DSBP-73VH-DP5JF
For instructions on adding a Schoology course using an access code, click HERE.
My hope is to take some of the work out of planning history while helping your family enjoy learning about the past together!
OPTIONAL SYNCHRONOUS (LIVE) INSTRUCTION OPPORTUNITIES
As a California independent study school, we are dedicated to providing meaningful support for all our students. While our program is designed for maximum flexibility, we are also required to offer optional synchronous (live) instruction opportunities. These sessions are an excellent resource for students to connect with their credentialed teachers in real time for additional academic guidance.
At Classical Academy Vista, these opportunities are available via In-person Office Hours. If you would like to explore these options for your student, please feel free to contact their teacher directly.
Please note: Participation in these sessions is entirely optional. While we are required to notify families when a student does not participate, please rest assured that there is no negative impact on your student’s standing or progress if they choose not to attend. No action is required on your part.
Thank you for your continued partnership.
Medication Administration Policy
Medication Administration Policy and Forms Required
Dear The Classical Academies’ Families,
Under California Education Code §§ 49423, students who require medication administration assistance to support learning and attendance during the school day must meet certain requirements before a school may assist with that medication. Medication administration is provided under the direct and indirect supervision of the School Nurse. If a student needs medication during the school day, the following guidelines must be followed:
Complete a Medication Request Form for all prescription, over the counter, and herbal medications that includes the name of the medication, dosage, route, and time needed. The form requires signatures by both the parent and the student’s primary care physician. The physician must be licensed in the state of California.
The completed form should be given to the Health Technician at the same time as you deliver the medication.
The medication must be in the original pharmacy-labeled container stating the student’s full name, medication name, proper dosage, and time to be given. Please check the expiration date on all medications you provide to the school and update the medications as needed. A one month supply is preferred and then replenished as needed.
Please let your student know that they will be asked to come to the front office to receive their medications. Students are not allowed to self-carry medication UNLESS the self-carry form is filled out and approved by the school. Note: the school does not have standing orders to supply over-the-counter medications to students such as Tylenol, Advil/Motrin, etc. These medications require the medication process to be followed and can NOT be carried without proper documentation.
If your student has a chronic health condition, please have the appropriate action plan completed and signed by your student's primary care physician and parent per the following:
Life Threatening Food Allergy - Allergy Action Plan
Asthma - Asthma Action Plan
Type 1 Diabetes - Diabetes Action Plan
Seizures - Seizure Action Plan
If you have any questions about medications or your students health needs, please contact our District Nurse, Stacy Munro, RN at smunro@classicalacademy.com.

*DROP OFF AND PICK UP REMINDER*
When driving into or on our campus:
Staff directing traffic are there for your safety and that of our staff and students. Please follow all traffic rules and the directions of our staff.
Do not leave your car unattended in the pick up lane or in any other place that isn’t a parking spot. We are happy to get your student for you and/or buckle them in if needed.
There is absolutely no drop off or pick up in any parking lot on our campus. It is an extreme safety hazard when students walk through areas where there are cars actively driving. If you want to park and pick your student up from the parking lot, you MUST park and walk to the sidewalk to get them. We will no longer be allowing students to just walk out and find their cars.
If you want to walk your student up for drop off, please park in the parent parking lot and get out to accompany them to supervised areas. If you are not parking and walking your student in, the ONLY safe place for drop off and pick up are in the designated drop off and pick up areas where staff are on duty.
Students may not be dropped off on the street below our campus. If your student is walking in, they need to be dropped off in an area that is not an active city street.
We have speed bumps installed in our driveway now to keep the speed down. Please drive slowly on our property.
Please do not block the passing lane at the bottom of the hill when entering our property. The residents of the apartment complex beyond us need to get by safely.
Please also exercise caution when exiting our property since we share the road with the apartment complex residents.
Please keep in mind that all of these requirements are designed to keep students safe when being dropped off and picked up on our campus. We realize it might take some time to get through our drop off and pick up lines, but we do our best to make this happen as quickly and safely as possible. Thank you for your cooperation and help at drop off and pick up times.
VISITOR AND VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES
ALL visitors/parents/guardians who will be coming on campus MUST sign in at the front desk and obtain a Visitors Badge.
Please have your ID ready the first time you check in. After this 1st check-in, we will not require your ID. You may provide your name at the front desk and we will print you a visitor's badge.
If you will be volunteering in a classroom or plan on volunteering in the future, please email Caitlyn Avila and she will send you the Volunteer Letter/Survey that is required to be completed in order to volunteer on our campus. cavila@classicalacademy.com
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
Cell Phone Policy

1st offense - Teacher takes phone/smartwatch and brings it to the front office. Parent will be contacted by email or phone as a heads up and reminder of our policy, a behavior form will be filled out, and the student can pick up the phone from the office at the end of the day.

Students participate in live virtual classes two days a week, where teachers guide them through much of their core academic content. On the remaining three days, parents continue learning at home using curriculum provided by The Classical Academies.
It’s a great way to lighten the teaching load for parents while keeping the flexibility and family involvement that make homeschooling so valuable.
Students can also enjoy park days, field trips, clubs, enrichment activities, and other opportunities to connect with the Classical Academies community.
