Future Athletes

Basic Information About Track & Field

  1. Made Up of 17 Events (We can find everyone a place to contribute!)

    • Short Sprints (100m, 200m, 4x100m)

    • Hurdles (100H or 110H, 300H)

    • Long Sprints (400m, 4x400m)

    • Mid-Distance (800m, 4x800m)

    • Distance (1600m, 3200m)

    • Jumps (High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault)

    • Throws (Shot Put, Discus)

2. Many of our event's skills translate directly towards other sports! We can build up your skills in the following areas:

    • Top End Speed (Fastest you can run)

    • Acceleration (How quick you can get to your top speed)

    • General Strength (Ability to exert force)

    • Power (Ability to move weight with speed. Explosiveness)

    • Anaerobic Fitness (Ability to exercise without enough oxygen)

    • Aerobic Fitness (Ability to exercise while using oxygen)

    • Jumping (Horizontally and Vertically)

3. We will train you differently based on your event. Our practices are efficient and we will maximize your time with us!

4. We will give you opportunities to improve your mental approach to athletics (Goal Setting, Positive Thinking, Visualization)

5. We will teach you how to be a constructive member of a team! While we are all working individually to improve ourselves, you will find a very supportive, family environment with us! Come compete and grow together with some of the best athletes in our school!

6. We are a sport that gives you constant feedback and allows you to compete against yourself on a daily basis!

7. We love multi-sport athletes! We are flexible and will work with you to find a way to best support your development as an athlete.
