Entering its 17th year of existence, Ambience is the junior varsity competitive show choir at Lincoln Southwest, comprised of students in grades 10-11. Ambience rehearses during the 1A class period every day (every other day for students who are enrolled in Symphonic Band), and Tuesday afternoons from 4-6pm starting in September. Members of Ambience are selected by audition. Intermediate singing techniques, presentation skills, and choreography will be studied through a variety of popular, show, and jazz style music. Students are required to purchase a show costume and be enrolled in choir. In addition to scheduled school concerts, this group will perform at various festivals, competitions, and community functions. Attendance at all scheduled performances is expected and required.
