 The Lincoln Southwest Girls Soccer Program was established in 2002-2003 upon the opening of Lincoln Southwest High School. Since that time, the program has become one of the premier Class A Soccer Programs in The City of Lincoln, The Heartland Athletic Conference, The State of Nebraska, and The United States. Above: The 2023 LSW Girls Soccer Varsity Team became the first in program history to qualify for the Class A State Championship Match. Despite falling to Gretna 5-2, the team had an amazing season, going 16-3 Overall, while winning the HAC Regular Season Championship, HAC Tournament Championship, and an NSAA District Championship. 

Above: What a difference a year makes. In 2024, The LSW GIrls Soccer Varsity Team went one step further, winning the Class A State Championship in thrilling fashion. After tying the match with 40 seconds left in Regulation, the team went on to win in a Sudden Death Penalty Shootout over Lincoln Pius X, with Goalkeeper Clara Fundus making 2 crucial Saves to help secure the win.

Above: Sophomores Izzie Kiser, Peyton Held, and Ainsley Roeder mob Junior Defender Thea Martin in the State Championship Match after Martin's Free Kick with 40 seconds remaining in Regulation tied the match 1-1 to help send it to OT. The Silver Hawks would prevail in a Shootout.

Above: Since it's inception in 2003, The LSW Girls Soccer Program has qualified for the NSAA Class A State Tournament 14 times. This also includes 8 Semi-Finals Appearances and 2 Finals Appearances in 2023 & 2024. The State Tournament experience at Creighton's Morrison Stadium has been noted as one of, if not the premier High School State Soccer events in the country. Players  and Coaches do not take this opportunity and experience for granted and the hard work put in year round is crucial to ensuring LSW's presence each May. 

Below: Following impressive 4-year careers with The LSW Girls Soccer Program, 2009 Seniors, Bri Exstrom (Left) Bri Badje (Center) and Jami Finnell (Right) signed on to play Soccer with Division I Programs. Exstrom & Badje both signed with The University of Nebraska - Lincoln, while Finnell signed with UMKC. The trio were the first Division I Signings in LSW Girls Soccer Program History and helped LSW to its first 2 State Tournament Appearances in 2008 & 2009, as well the program's first 2 NSAA District Tournament Championships, HAC Regular Season Championship, and 2 LPS City Championships. 

Above: Following an impressive 4-year spell with The LSW Girls Soccer Program, which included 3 NSAA State Tournament Appearances and 3 NSAA District Tournament Championships, 2012 Senior Defender Kasha Meyer signed with South Dakota University. In doing so, she became the 6th Division I Signee from LSW and the first under Coach Thomas Nettleton. At SDU, Meyer made 72 Appearances, logging the 4th-Most Minutes Played in SDU Program History (4,977). Additionally, she was named a 2012 All-Summit League 2nd-Team Selection and All-Summit League Tournament Selection. After concluding her collegiate career, Meyer signed a professional contract with Calder United of the Victoria Women's Premier League in Australia. 

Above: Led by the attacking prowess of Forwards Abby Meader (Left) and Hannah Davis (Right), The 2014 LSW Girls Varsity Team set Program Records for Single-Season Goals Scored (100), Single-Season Assists (91), Points Scored (291),  Single-Match Assists (14), and Goals Per Game (5.26 - 19 Matches). Meader would finish on 24 Goals & 15 Assists with Davis finishing on 25 Goals & 15 Assists. 

Above: Capable of playing at all 3 levels of the formation, Megan McCashland (Class of 2014) was a dominant presence within Class A Girls Soccer from 2012-2014. For her contributions, she was recognized as a  3x HAC All-Conference Selection, 3x Class A All-State Selection, and 2x All-Nebraska/Super-State Selection. Additionally, McCashland was recognized as the 2013 All-City Honorary Captain and de facto Player of the Year and a Two-Time NE Girls Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year Nominee in 2013 & 2014. She also played for the US ODP Region II Team, FC Dallas, and went on to sign a Division I National Letter of Intent to  play collegiately at The University of Notre Dame & then The University of Southern California as a Graduate Transfer.

Above: LSW Girls Soccer Program Forward Abby Meader is awarded the 2015 Lincoln Journal Star Girls Prep Soccer Player of the Year Award by former Husker Legend, Barrett Ruud. Meader ended her career at LSW as a 2x All-Nebraska/Super-State Selection, 3x Class A All-State Selection, 3x HAC All-Conference Selection, 3x LJS All-City Selection, and 2x Honorary Captain. A 2015 NE Shrine Soccer Classic Selection, Meader would take home the Karnes Family Memorial Award as the Match MVP. During her time at LSW, Meader contributed 77 Goals, 48 Assists, and 212 Points during her time with the program and went on to play collegiately at Division I University of Nebraska - Omaha. 

Above: With an impressive tally of 46 Goals & 17 Assists, Senior Forward Hannah Davis was recognized as the 2017 Nebraska Girls Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year. This was the first selection of an LSW Girls Soccer Player in program history. Davis would go on to set the (then) Nebraska Class A Girls Soccer Career Goals Scored (117) and Points Record (286). She was also recognized as the Lincoln Journal Star Prep Soccer Player of the Year and was the Honorary Captain for the Super-State Team. Davis would eventually sign with Division I Kansas State University to play Soccer. 

Above: 2017 Senior Forward Hannah Davis sets the (then)  LSW Girls Soccer Program and Nebraska Girls Class A Record for Goals in a Single Season (46), Career Goals (117), and Career Points (286). Davis would also set the LSW Career Assists Record (52).

Above: 2017 Freshman Midfielder Gwen Lane sets the LSW Girls Soccer Program Record for Assists in a Single-Season (19). Lane also contributed 7 Goals that season and would go on to play collegiately with The University of Nebraska - Lincoln. 

Above: 2023 Senior Goalkeeper Alexa Gobel ties the Program Record for Single-Season Clean Sheets (12) held by Jami Finnell & Megan Hastings. Gobel would go on finish Top-5 in multiple LSW Goalkeeping statistical categories and sign with the University of Nebraska - Lincoln to play Soccer. 

Above: 2019 Senior Goalkeeper Raegan Wells sets the LSW Girls Soccer Program Record for Single-Season Goals Against Average (0.363) after only conceding 5 Goals in 15 Matches. Wells would go on to sign with DII Washburn University and set the Program Record for Minutes Played (7,284) while also making it to the 2023 DII National Championship Match.

Above: The 2018 LSW Girls Soccer Varsity Team helped secure several benchmark honors for the program in winning its 5th HAC Conference Tournament Championship (shown above), 10th District Championship, 10th NSAA State Tournament Appearance, and 5th NSAA State Tournament Semi-Finals Appearance. Unfortunately the team would fall in Overtime to 14x State Champions, Omaha Marian and finish the season 13-5. 

Above: An unfortunate 1-0 upset in the Quarterfinals of the State Tournament doesn't take away from the amazing effort put forth by the 2021 LSW Girls Soccer Varsity Team. The team set multiple program records during the course of the season including Consecutive Wins (15), Least Goals Conceded (5), and Goals Against Average (0.303). They also won a treble of titles with City, Conference, and District Championships. 

Above: 2024 Senior Midfielder Charley Kort signed off in style to cap an impressive 4-year stint at LSW.  Kort ended her time at LSW with an impressive trophy haul of 2 LPS City Championships, 3 HAC Conference Championships, 4 District Championships, a 2023 Class A Runner-Up, and 2024 Class A State Championship. Additionally, she was a 2x Lincoln Journal Star Honorary Captain/Player of the Year and a 2x Nebraska Girls Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year Nominee. Kort contributed 50 Goals, 28 Assists, and 128 Points during her time with LSW and served as a Captain her Senior year. Kort signed with Division I University of Nebraska - Omaha to play Soccer. 

Above: 2024 Junior Goalkeeper Clara Fundus was named The 2024 NSAA Class A Girls Soccer Player of the Tournament by several media outlets after playing a crucial role in helping lead The LSW Girls Soccer Program to its first NSAA Class A State Championship with her performances in goal. Fundus's steady presence at the back was capped off by making 2 crucial Penalty Kick Saves in the Sudden Death Shootout that decided the match. Fundus also set the new LSW Girls Soccer Program Single-Season Record for Goals Against Average (0.325) after only conceding 6 Goals in 1480 Minutes of field time. She also matched the Program Single-Season Record for Clean Sheets (12). For her efforts, Fundus was named a 1st Team All-Nebraska/Super-State Selection, Class A All-State Selection, HAC All-Conference Selection, and Lincoln Journal Star All-City Selection.

Left: After a historic 2024 campaign that saw The LSW Girls Soccer Program make a second consecutive appearance in the NSAA Class A State Championship Match and win the programs first title, the program continued to break new ground by securing its first ever United Soccer Coaches Spring Soccer Season National Top-25 Ranking. A total of 7 bi-weekly polls are conducted in 5 different geographical regions throughout the Spring Season, with a  composite National Poll being made up from the regional results. LSW entered the polls in late March (Poll 2), reaching as high as #11. The LSW Girls Soccer Program finished the season ranked as the 13th Best High School Girls Soccer Program in the country.
