Coach Thomas Nettleton will be in his 14th Season as the Head Coach of the LSW Girls Soccer Program after taking over in the Spring of 2012. This will be his 17th Season of coaching overall.

 

Since assuming the position of Head Coach, the LSW Girls Soccer Program has reached new levels of success across the board in all areas of competition under Coach Nettleton’s guidance. The Program has won multiple City, Conference, and District Titles, as well as qualifying for the State Tournament in 11 out of 12 Seasons, including 7 Consecutive appearances from 2012-2018 and 4 Consecutive Semi-Finals Appearances from 2015-2018. 2023 was a banner year for Coach Nettleton and The LSW Girls Soccer Program as they navigated their way to the 1st State Final in Program history, ultimately finishing as Class A Runner-Up. In 2024, Coach Nettleton and the LSW Girls Soccer Program went one step further, capturing the program's first Class A State Championship in thrilling fashion over Lincoln Pius X in a sudden death Penalty Shootout. For their efforts, the program was recognized as a United Soccer Coaches National Top-25 Program, finishing at #13. 

 

Coach Nettleton has worked tirelessly to establish a strong program culture where hard work, citizenship, inclusivity, and team spirit are the driving forces behind success. Players are held to the highest of standards in the classroom, on the field, and in the community. Additionally, giving back to various organizations around the city and state have been of paramount importance, with the program organizing multiple charitable campaigns for various causes regularly. The culture and mentality of LSW Girls Soccer is well summarized by the Program Ethos of "Rise To Lift Others".


A product of Lincoln Public Schools, Coach Nettleton attended Lincoln High School where he played Basketball and Soccer. He was a Super-State and Class A All-State selection for the Links his Senior Season.  Following his time at LHS, Coach Nettleton was awarded a soccer scholarship to perennial NAIA powerhouse, Hastings College. While at Hastings, the team reached the NAIA Final Four twice and won the GPAC Conference Championship & Tournament 4 Consecutive Seasons. 


After concluding his playing eligibility, Coach Nettleton served as a Graduate Assistant Coach with Hastings College. In addition to coaching at Hastings and LSW, Coach Nettleton has coached at several Soccer Clubs throughout the state including Gretna Soccer Club, Nebraska Football Club, Magellan & Villarreal Nebraska. Coach Nettleton has also worked extensively with The Nebraska Olympic Development Program (ODP).

 

Coach Nettleton holds a variety of Coaching Licenses & Diplomas from The United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), in addition to Masters Degrees in Physical Education from Hastings College, & a  Masters in Historical Studies from Nebraska Wesleyan University. In  September of 2023 Coach Nettleton was awarded with a Certificate of Recognition from HumanEx Ventures at their Impact & Legacy Summit in honor of his relentless efforts to build a strong culture within the LSW Girls Soccer Program.


At Lincoln Southwest, Coach Nettleton teaches in the Social Studies Department where his classes include Government & Politics and Sociology. He is also involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, taking on remodeling projects, traveling, playing/singing in his church's band, and watching soccer. Coach Nettleton is a supporter of Manchester United FC.

Alisha Stopp - Junior Varsity Head Coach/Varsity Assistant

Coach Alisha Stopp will be in her 12th Season with The LSW Girls Soccer Program as the Junior Varsity Team Head Coach & Varsity Assistant and 13th Season overall with the program. Coach Stopp served as the LSW Girls Soccer Program Reserve Head Coach in 2013 and moved up to the JV role in 2014. 

Since taking over the JV Team in 2014, Coach Stopp has gone on to become one of the most successful JV Head Coaches in LPS history. Coach Stopp has won 5 Consecutive LPS JV City Championships and 8 Overall. She has also overseen 3 Undefeated Seasons (2016, 2019, 2024). During her time with LSW she has amassed an Overall Record of 107 Wins, 13 Losses, & 2 Draws (.877 Win %). 

Coach Stopp has also been crucial to the success of The LSW Girls Varsity Team which has qualified for The NSAA State Tournament 10 times, reaching the Semi-Finals on 7 occasions.  Coach Stopp was integral to the Class A State Runner-Up in 2023 and State Championship in 2024. One of Coach Stopp's biggest attributes is building strong rapport and relationships with The LSW Girls Soccer Program Players. Her player-centered approach has allowed athletes to gain confidence and comfortability during their time with the program. In addition to coaching with LSW, Coach Stopp has also been involved in coaching Club Soccer with Villarreal Nebraska Academy and 402 Academy. Coach Stopp also coaches with the LSW Girls Basketball Program. 

A product of Lincoln Southeast High School, Coach Stopp was a multi-year Varsity Letterwinner and went on to play Soccer at Nebraska Wesleyan University from 1999-2002. While at Nebraska Wesleyan, Coach Stopp earned her Bachelors Degree in Special Education. 

In her spare time Coach Stopp enjoys taking her daughters to their various sporting events, spending time with family, reading, and strength & conditioning training. Coach Stopp is a supporter of The US Women's National Team and Manchester City FC.

Macy Konwinski - Reserve Head Coach/Varsity Assistant

Coach Macy Konwinski will be in her 2nd Season as The LSW Girls Soccer Program Reserve Team Head Coach and 3rd Season Overall going into the 2025 Season. Coach Konwinski started coaching with the program as a Volunteer Varsity Assistant in 2023 while Student Teaching at LSW and was promoted to Reserve Team Head Coach the following year. 

During her first season at the helm of the Reserve Team, Coach Konwinski led her team to a 7-3 Overall Record, scoring 45 Goals, conceding 12, and finishing as the LPS City Runner-Up. In Coach Konwinski's first two seasons with The LSW Girls Soccer Program, the Varsity Team has reached the State Final in Back-to-Back Seasons, winning it in 2024.

A product of Millard West High School, Coach Konwinski has been involved with soccer the majority of her life, playing for Millard West, Toro FC, and Sporting Omaha FC. Coach Konwinski knew she wanted to channel her passion and love for the game into coaching when she was only 14 after getting the opportunity to work with youth players at a soccer clinic and  also helping train her younger sister in her family's backyard.

Following high school, Coach Konwinski attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln where she received her Bachelors Degree in Family & Consumer Sciences Education. She also received a Coaching Endorsement Minor through UNL. Coach Konwinski currently teaches 6-8th Grade at Scott Middle School.

In her spare time, Coach Konwinski enjoys spending time with her sisters, being outside, movies, and traveling. A fun fact is she has been to each of the 48 continental states. Coach Konwinski is a supporter of the US Women's National Team & AC Milan. 

Katie Kuhn - Volunteer Varsity Assistant

Coach Katie Kuhn will be in her 9th Season coaching with The LSW Girls Soccer Program after coming on board in 2017 initially in a Volunteer Varsity Assistant role. During the 2021 & 2022 Seasons, Kuhn served as Reserve Team Head Coach, leading them to an Overall Record of 14 Wins & 5 Losses, while scoring 77 Goals and conceding 18.

The LSW Girls Soccer Program has experienced unprecedented success during Coach Kuhn's time with the program, winning multiple City, Conference, and District Titles and qualifying for the State Tournament 5 out of the last 6 Seasons. Most recently this has culminated with the program making consecutive appearances in the State Final, winning in 2024. 

Coach Kuhn has been involved in soccer since she was 4 years old, playing with a variety of organizations including The YMCA, Nebraska Rush, and Lincoln Pius X High School. She also played co-ed intramural soccer while attending The University of Nebraska - Lincoln. 

While at UNL, Coach Kuhn earned a Bachelors & Masters Degree in Mathematics Education. She also received a Coaching Endorsement Minor. Coach Kuhn has taught at Lincoln High School in the Math Department since 2018.

In her spare time, Coach Kuhn enjoys spending time with her family and new baby girl Joanna, running, and shopping. Coach Kuhn is a supporter of the US Women's National Team.

Morgan Finley - Volunteer Varsity Assistant

Coach Morgan Finley will be in her 6th Season of coaching with The LSW Girls Soccer Program in a Volunteer Varsity Assistant role heading into the 2025 Season. Coach Finley is a proud alumnus of Lincoln Southwest, having graduated in 2018. During her time with the program, Coach Finley was a 3-Year Varsity Letterwinner, 3-Year Starter, and served as Team Captain her Senior Season. Coach Finley was also selected for the 2018 NE Shrine Soccer Classic. 

Coach Finley was a mainstay in the back line and helped The LSW Girls Soccer Program secure 3 State Semi-Finals Appearances, 3 NSAA District Championships, 2 HAC Regular Season Championships, 3 HAC Tournament Championships, 2 LPS City Titles, and an Overall Record of 45 Wins & 10 Losses. For her efforts, Finley was recognized as a 2x Academic All-Conference Selection. In addition to LSW, Coach Finley played with The Elite Girls Academy (EGA) from 2015-2018. Coach Finley then signed to play collegiate soccer with Nebraska Wesleyan University.

At Nebraska Wesleyan, Coach Finley made 55 Career Appearances for the Prairie Wolves, starting in 47 matches. During her 2021 Senior Season, Finley served as Team Captain and was recognized as an American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) All-Academic Team Selection as well as earning the NWU All Program Award. While at NWU, Finley earned her Bachelors Degree  in Elementary & Special Education. Coach Finley has taught Special Education at Belmont Elementary School since 2022.

Since coming on board with The LSW Girls Soccer Program in a coaching capacity, Coach Finley has helped the Silver Hawks post some historic defensive numbers while also racking up numerous honors. During the 2023  Runner-Up Season, the team only conceded 5 Goals heading into the State Final. In 2024, they conceded just 7 Goals the entire season en route to the program's 1st State Championship Title. 

Outside of work and coaching, Coach Finley enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog. She also enjoys reading, home projects and getting outside and being active. Coach Finley is a supporter of NWSL's Gotham FC.

Mary Sullivan - Volunteer Varsity Assistant - Goalkeepers

Coach Mary Sullivan will be in her 7th Season of coaching with The LSW Girls Soccer Program heading into the 2025 Season, primarily coaching the Goalkeepers. She also served as The Reserve Team Head Coach in 2023. During that season, Coach Sullivan led the Reserve Team to a Record of 7 Wins, 2 Losses, and the LPS Reserve City Championship. 

During Coach Sullivan's time with the Silver Hawks, she has coached multiple Goalkeepers to All-Nebraska/Super-State Selections, Class A All-State Selections, and helped them set multiple Goalkeeping Records including Goals Against Average, Single-Season Shutouts, and Least Goals Conceded. In addition to coaching with LSW, Coach Sullivan has also worked with Magellan Soccer Club, coaching Goalkeepers.

Coach Sullivan is a product of Lincoln Pius X High School, where she played as a Goalkeeper from 2009-2012. While at Pius X, the Girls Soccer Program qualified for the Class B State Tournament 3 out of 4 Seasons, reaching the State Semi-Finals her Senior Season. Sullivan was also selected to play in the 2012 NE Shrine Soccer Classic. 

After high school, Coach Sullivan attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. While at UNL, Coach Sullivan earned her Bachelors in Business, Marketing, & Information Technology. She also served as the Husker Women's Soccer Team Manager. Coach Sullivan completed her Student Teaching at LSW and taught Business at Lincoln East High School from 2021-2023. Currently she works as a Marketing Specialist with RevOps Software and Victress Gym. 

Coach Sullivan is currently in the process of acquiring her United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National D Coaching License. 

In her spare time, Coach Sullivan enjoys playing in strength & conditioning training, playing in co-ed soccer leagues, traveling, and getting outdoors. Coach Sullivan is a supporter of Manchester United FC. 

Chris Rajala - Volunteer Varsity Assistant

Coach Chris Rajala will be in his 3rd Season of coaching with The LSW Girls Soccer Program in a Volunteer Varsity Assistant role and 16th Season overall within LPS. Prior to coaching with LSW, Coach Rajala served as a Volunteer Varsity Assistant at Lincoln Southeast High School from 2009-2022.

Coach Rajala has been involved with soccer at a variety of levels and associations and has also served as a referee. Some of Coach Rajala's favorite coaching highlights include helping LSE make the State Tournament twice.

Since coming to LSW, he has helped the LSW Girls Program make 2 State Finals, winning their first State Championship in 2024. Part of Coach Rajala's contributions at both LSE and LSW have been in the areas of Performance & Opposition Analysis, particularly with Set Pieces. Finally, he enjoys building strong relationships and seeing the positive influence education-based athletics can have on its participants. 

Coach Rajala hails from Shawnee, KS and attended Shawnee Mission Northwest High School where he played Soccer and served as Team Captain. After high school, Coach Rajala attended the University of Kansas and earned a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education and also a Masters Degree in Theology from Fuller Seminary. 

Coach Rajala has been on the Lincoln Young Life Staff for the past 27 years. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, working on home renovation projects, and watching Kansas City-based sports. Coach Rajala is a supporter of Sporting Kansas City SC.
