UDA Summer camp is a four-day dance intensive that pushes the new team to their limits! The camp is lead by incredibly talented instructors with high school and collegiate dance backgrounds from all over the country. Our team is paired up with one instructor and a buddy team to navigate through classes, competition, and new friendships.
Our team competed with our home routine as well as the Hip Hop V Team Performance routine. In addition, each Shirette attends different classes that vary in style from pom, kick, hip hop and more. Each team learns team bonding activities, leadership skills, and how to show their school spirit.

The Team routine at UDA is one style taught by the UDA staff and choreographed in a way for each team to customize based on their skills and strengths. The team chose Hip Hop V to "Stir Fry". Drill Downs are military-style competitions where the dancers stand at attention and perform movements on command such as "hand salute", "parade rest", and more. Dancers who fail to execute a command are eliminated and those who are left standing receive a Drill Down ribbon.

Crazy Night is full of games and activities for dance teams to dress up and work together!
UDA 2023 Theme was Magic, Shirettes dressed at unicorns!
Each team is paired up with another team attending camp to bond and find familiar faces. Our team was paired up with Pius X "Thunderettes."
Both teams call themselves the "Rettes!"
This award is first given to a dancer who has qualities that have made them stand out to a UDA instructor. The unique moment of pinning it forward is that the staff can personally award at any time throughout the camp and for any reason. Then, that dancer has an opportunity to 'Pin It Forward' to another dancer at camp.
Hailey Taylor—received the second pin from Cassidy C., a dancer on the Norfolk "Pink Panthers" Dance Team.
