High school dance teams offer a unique multi-faceted experience. While working to grow and achieve success within our team, we also get to foster school spirit and cheer on the rest of the school. Through all of this, dance teams provide a strong environment for young dancers to become leaders, sharpen their skills, and create lasting memories.
I believe that dance is both an art and a sport, and I hope to foster an environment where dancers can flourish creatively and athletically. I strive to provide guidance to each member so that they can gain the tools they need to be successful on and off the dance floor. As a coach, I lead with empathy and hope to create a safe space for dancers to explore their artistry, improve communication skills, and find confidence within themselves.
This is my 4th year teaching at Southeast and second year as coach of the Shirettes. I am proud to be a part of our awesome Social Studies department where I teach Civics, Government & Politics, US History, and AP US History. I graduated from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln in 2022 where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education for Social Studies.
I graduated from Lincoln East where I was a member of the Apollonaires Dance Team and served as captain my senior year. I also grew up dancing competitively at Anderson-Hoxie Dance Project, where I am now in my 10th year teaching. Prior to coaching Shirettes, I was a coach for the Southeast Cheer Team for 2 years. I love being able to pass down my passion for dance to this next generation.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. I also love exploring Lincoln and enjoying all that this city has to offer!
Go Knights!
