Mixed Choir is an excellent introduction to the world of choral singing. Students will learn fundamentals of musicianship and vocal techniques. These choirs will perform multiple public concerts throughout the year.
This choir ensemble class offers an opportunity for young singers to study individual vocal
techniques and experience group choral techniques through rehearsal and performance of
traditional 4-part choral literature. This class will maintain a balance of mixed voices
(SATB). It is also the course’s goal to create an atmosphere of thoughtful reflection and
critical thinking and to foster a community in which students respect the music, the
ensemble, and each other. Performances outside of the school day are part of class
expectations.
