A Zoom option will be available for the meeting on the 27th. Both parent/guardian and dancer candidate must be visible in the camera for the entirety of the meeting for attendance to be counted.
This meeting is required for both parents/guardians and dancer candidates auditioning for the 2025-2026 LSB Legends Dance Team. If a parent/guardian and dancer does not attend, the dancer will be ineligible to tryout, regardless if they have been on the team prior.
Required Forms & Application Due: Monday, March 24th
In-Person Tryouts: 3/25/25 - 3/28/25 @ LSB
Practice Sessions: Tuesday & Wednesday, 5:30-7:30 PM and Thursday, 4:30-6:30 PM*
Participants must attend all three practices to be considered for placement. New material is covered each day.
Official Auditions: Friday, 3/28/25 @ LSB, first slot starting at 5:30 PM. Time slots will be assigned.
If you cannot attend the official audition on Friday evening, please email Coach Rachel at least two weeks in advance for an alternative audition option.

Audition Scoring
References & Application with Personal Disposition Statement: 35% of Overall Score (80 points)
Assessed Dance Capabilities: 65% of Overall Score (150 total points)
Attire
Practice Sessions: Appropriate athletic clothing that fully covers your chest and bottom (even while dancing), Hair securely tied back, Jazz shoes or Half-soles/turners, waterbottle, and no jewelry (stud earrings are allowed).
To Auditions:
Plain fitted t-shirt/tanktop with no midriff showing when standing relaxed at attention,
Leggings or biker shorts to fully cover bottom,
Jazz shoes or Half-soles/Turners,
Hair securely tied back (no hair accessories) - low bun recommended
Makeup should be complementary to facial features,
No jewelry (stud earrings are allowed) & nails should be natural/sports length. (Please communicate ahead of time if a medical device needs to be on or near a dancer in their audition)

Advanced Turn Combo (Music: Geronimo by Sheppard)
You will have a maximum of three eight counts to showcase your best consecutive turns, which could include floats, fouettés, attitude turns, skater turns, etc. You may open on even or odd counts. You may exit the combo with a trick/leap of your choice or simply a strong landing.
Ruby or Emerald Jump (either side)

8 - Feet apart in deep plié with high V arms
1 - Relevé, turn to the back with arms in touchdown
2 - Plié in fifth to back corner, arms in 1st position

Side Aerial
You may choose left or right and how you prep into the aerial (step, chainé, run). If you have not mastered a side aerial yet, we would like to see your one-handed or pop cartwheel.
Skill of Choice
Pick a mastered skill not already listed to showcase to the judges! It must be a skill that can be completed within an 8-count. (Ideas: acro skill, needle leg hold, bow and arrow leg hold, butterfly jump, double or triple toe touch, quad or quint pirouette, etc.)
