A "ready to try my best" attitude
Respect instruments in room 401. Do not touch instruments in the classroom that are not your own, unless instructed to do so.
All general school rules/expectations are followed in this room.
No food or drink (other than a sealed water bottle) allowed in the classroom. No gum!
Be in your seat, ready for tuning (this means unpacked and ready to begin), 2 minutes after the bell. Most days, Mr. Hegert will take roll during the 2 minutes and start tuning immediately after.
TARDIES- Students are tardy if they:
A- Are not in the room 1 minute after the bell.
B- Are not ready to tune with all materials by 2 minutes after the bell
Entering and leaving the classroom
Entering
Get folder and other materials first.
Spit out your gum in the trash can.
Unpack your instrument and be ready to play for the day first. Then socialize. Of course, you can also talk as you unpack.
Violins/Violas- Cases go under chairs OR against the cabinets. No icebergs please.
Rosin before/directly after tuning. Tuning time is not the correct time to rosin your bow.
Leaving
I will send a pass through zoom to the whole staff if I give you less than one minute to pack up as a group. I will usually aim for 2 minutes.
Put away your folder carefully. Folders left out or found in the wrong slot in the rack will be put in music lost and found on table. Both folder owners will lose 1 participation point.
Keep the room looking good. Move your chair to your dot. Throw away any scraps of paper or trash.
Exit either side of the classroom. Doors stay closed until bell.
You "lost" your practice music?
Double check your folder.
Check the music lost and found.
Check the extra practice copies folder for your grade/instrument. If you take the last sheet for a particular song, please tell Mr. Hegert.
If there is not an extra part for what you are looking for, talk to Mr. Hegert about getting a new one. *This will not change due dates for assignments.
