Second Grade Technology Lessons focus on typing skills development and word processing (Q1), spreadsheets and coding (Q2), research (Q3), and presentations (Q4).
In the 3rd quarter, students advance their typing skills and develop beginning research skills. Students will research about a variety of animals and insects. Students will learn to locate important information on a webpage using page titles, headings, subheadings, bold text, links, and text search techniques such as Ctrl + F (Find).
* NOTE: To simplify searching for beginner searchers, it is good practice to point students to specific, grade-level appropriate websites. As students gain confidence and skills, they may be able to search more independently. Print research activity sheets and allow students to use pencils to transcribe what they find on the screen to paper.
