What is Makedo?
Makedo is a simple to use open-ended system of tools for creative cardboard construction. Build imaginative creations from upcycled (repurposed) everyday cardboard. Makedo has tools designed for kids, with a series of safe cardboard construction tools purposely designed for kids to imagine and build the world they want to see.
Makedo empowers kids to develop the necessary skills; communication, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and empathy, to navigate and problem solve their way through our changing world.
Makedo creates open-ended opportunities for students to work at their own pace to imagine ideas and create solutions. The learning lies in the thinking, the design process and, finally, the invention itself.
These thinking skills, and the hands-on making they encourage, can be brought into any classroom, makerspace or library program. All you need is an educator/group leader/parent to support the process.
Makedo is a hands-on STEAM learning cardboard construction kit consisting of plastic tools and screws that teaches kids through play to see the world not as it is but as it could be. It also teaches tomorrow’s generation that “fun” doesn’t have to cost the planet.

The Makedo Safe-Saw is independently tested to meet international toy safety standards for children aged 3+.

The best way to approach a day of Makedo is to give students lots of opportunities to practice with the tools. And then, when it comes to the business of creating, we recommend giving them enough time to brainstorm their ideas and then the space to plan and draw their designs.

What the Makedo tools are designed to do:
The FOLD-ROLLER perforates lines so you can fold and sculpt cardboard like a pro.
The SCRU-DRIVER connects cardboard as easily as righty tighty, lefty loosey. With a few quick turns the cardboard is securely joined.
The SAFE-SAW cuts cardboard swiftly (without any safety risk).
The MINI-TOOL punches holes through cardboard. You can insert the scru into the socket (it also doubles as a mini scru-diver).
The two sizes of SCRU connect between three to six layers of corrugated layers of cardboard depending on which one you chose.
Scru Combo 160 Kit
With a mix of more reusable Scrus in your Makedo kit you can make more things, make with more complexity and collaborate with more makers.
NOTE: This is not a stand-alone kit. You will need a Scru-Driver or Mini-Tool to use the Scru parts.
