Behaviour on school transport
The majority of pupils who use school transport are well behaved.  However, there is a minority who misbehave to such an extent that they endanger others as well as themselves.  Any misbehaviour that is likely to put the safety of any person at risk or repeated low grade misbehaviour may lead to transport provision being withdrawn from the offender(s).

As the school is fairly new we have a very specific drop off zone for pupils travelling by car.   This is necessary to cover pupils who are placing requests and others.  We also have an area to the rear of the building to accommodate ASN pupils' taxis.  These operations are checked by a member of the SMT and Janitorial staff.

Pupils who live in Alva mostly walk and some cycle. There are two sets of pedestrian light and two zebra crossings at points along the main road to allow pupils to cross safely (the one nearest the school has a lollipop person).  Some come by car but this is intermittent, usually dependent on weather or family pressures

Pupils who live outside Alva have the opportunity to travel on school buses as do those outside the catchment area for a small charge.  This is operated by M-Line who work closely with the school to resolve any issues.  Their buses are well maintained and are kept clean and tidy.

The bus park is specifically designed with bays and is a safe place to board and exit buses.  Pupils walk to their bus stances - there is no rush.  A member of the SMT supervises pupils as they board for their return journey.

The pupils arrive at school through a safe route.
