ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps)

The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is a prestigious program offered by the Navy/Marines, Air Force, and Army to college students across the United States.

The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) gives students the opportunity to earn a college degree, learn and develop leadership skills, and prepare for a career as a military officer.

The military is looking for excellent students who have leadership potential.

Its goal is to help produce graduates who are equipped with the leadership skills necessary to pursue service with the US military.

In exchange for a paid college education and a guaranteed post-college career, participants, or cadets, commit to serve in the Military after graduation. Each Service branch has its own take on ROTC.

Even if you aren’t awarded a scholarship while you are in high school you can still apply after you start college. Once you get to the campus just visit the ROTC office and inquire about scholarship opportunities. For further information visit:

  • COMPLETE ONLINE INTEREST/INFORMATION REQUEST

  • EMAIL OR CALL LOCAL MILITARY CONTACT

  • TAKE SAT ASAP IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO

  • FIND UNIVERSITY WITH ROTC DETACHMENT

  • RESEARCH DEADLINES AND DUE DATES

  • APPLY TO UNIVERSITY

  • CONTACT UNIVERSITY DETACHMENT AND APPLY

  • FOLLOW UP WITH UNIVERSITY/ROTC APPLICATION

  • PREPARE FOR INTERVIEW/PHYSICAL, ETC.

  • CONSIDER APPLYING AT ONE OF THE ACADEMIES

It is important that you contact the ROTC Detachment at the university you plan to attend.
The ROTC detachment representative will provide you with the information you need to complete the application process.

Marines: Pursue ROTC via Navy scholarship program.
National Guard: No ROTC program. See Navy, Air Force or Army ROTC options.
Coast Guard: No ROTC program. See US Coast Guard Academy option.
