RoCK Safety

RoCK holds your safety to the highest order.

Personal Physical Safety - There is an information bank for safety regulations in the RoCK shop.  You will be required to complete a safety test and have it maintained by the Coaching staff.  There will be additional tests that you will take to specialize on other equipment in the shop.

Here is a list of the available tests:

• General Safety - REQUIRED

• Hand / Portable Power Tools - REQUIRED

• Horizontal Band Saw - SPECIALIZED

• Vertical Band Saw - SPECIALIZED  

• Drill Press - SPECIALIZED

• CNC Lathe - SPECIALIZED

• CNC Mill - SPECIALIZED

Interpersonal Relationship Safety - You will be working with mentors in developmental cycles of the FRC build and various projects.  Since you will be working with adults, the coaching staff will ensure the interpersonal relationships between students and adults are appropriate.  Any concerns will be addressed, and as a representative of Central Kitsap School District, Coach Thomas A. Beck will hold your personal safety to the highest degree.  Please understand any incident will be handled in an expeditious manner and will be corrected in the most precautionary direction.  

Please view the INTERPERSONAL SAFETY VIDEO and sign this acknowledgement (available below).  Email a copy to Coach Thomas A. Beck.  This form will be maintained by RoCK.

Additional information can be found on the FIRST website.  FIRST has its Youth Protection Program that RoCK has to adhere to for the FRC, and it is a good model to follow.
