Ritter and Massey

Welcome to Mrs. Ritter's 4th Grade! 

I would love to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to Carl Junction Intermediate. I look forward to getting to know you and your child this school year.

This will be my eighteenth year of teaching 4th grade at Carl Junction.  On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Ryan, for 27 years. We are blessed with two very precious and very active daughters. Hope is 14 years old and Olivia is 13, so most of my time away from school is spent enjoying every precious moment with them and cheering them on! I also enjoy traveling, serving at church, reading, swimming, hiking, playing games, and spending time with my friends and family.

I will be team teaching with Mrs. Massey this year, so she will have the joy of teaching your child Language and Math, and then I will teach them Reading, Word Study, Social Studies, and Science. Mrs. Massey is an absolutely wonderful teacher whom I have great respect for. Together, Mrs. Massey and I will provide your child with a wonderful learning experience!

Hi, I'm Mrs. Massey! 

Let me introduce myself! I have been married to my husband, Andy, for 22 years and we live here in Carl Junction. We have 5 boys: Dalton, Jakob, Drew, Tyson, and Landon. We also have an 8-year-old Boxer named Sophie! Dalton, Jakob, and Drew have all graduated from CJ, but my 2 youngest boys are still students here. Tyson will be a junior and Landon will be in 6th grade. One of my favorite things to do is watch them wrestle and play baseball and football! I also love to travel when I have time, play board games, run, and cheer on the Chiefs during football season! 

I graduated from MSSU in 2009 with my degree in elementary education and in 2024 with my Masters in Administration. This will be my 17th year teaching and my 8th year here in CJ teaching fourth grade! Before coming to Carl Junction, I taught first and third grade at Cecil Floyd in Joplin.

Our rotation this year will be myself and Mrs. Ritter. Your child will go to Mrs. Ritter for Science and Social Studies and will be in their own homeroom for Math, Language, and Reading/Word Study. I always want to keep the lines of communication open between home and school so if you ever need anything or have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. It's going to be a great year in fourth grade!
