Ms. Ponder

Welcome to 4th grade! I am Ms. Ponder and this will be my 20th year of teaching. This year will be my 13th year in Carl Junction and my 6th in 4th grade. I was a special education teacher prior to moving to 4th grade.

Mrs. Boyer is my teaching partner. She will teach science and math to both classes and I will teach reading and social studies to both classes. We both teach language to our homeroom classes. I look forward to all the good things this year will bring!

I graduated from MSSU with my bachelor’s degree in elementary education with an additional emphasis in special education. I also graduated from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri with my master's degree in educational leadership.

I have one son, Brenden, and was blessed when his wife Ashleigh joined the family a couple years ago. I am so excited to see what the future holds for them! They have 2 cats I consider my "grand cats," named Luna and Hubert. I also have two cats, Millie (my mini house panther), and Lucy (my grey tiger tabby).

I love spending time with family, reading, and working in my yard.

Some of my favorites are: Peanut butter & chocolate, flavored hot teas, and any flavor of Dr. Pepper Zero. (Due to allergies, I am unable to consume tree nuts or coffee.)

Mrs. Boyer

Welcome, I am Mrs. Boyer! I graduated from MSSU with a degree in elementary education and sociology. I taught 10 years in Webb City in both 1st and 2nd grade. This is my 11th year teaching, and I am so excited to have a 4th grade classroom in Carl Junction! Go Bulldogs!

Ms. Ponder and I will be working with your child to provide them with the best educational experience. I will teach science and math to both classes and also language arts to my homeroom class.

My husband, Chris, and I blended our families 9 years ago. Together we have 4 children: Kiley (18), Michael (17), Kaden (16), and Ava (7). We also have 3 cats, 1 dog, and a bunny.

My favorite pastimes include time spent by the water, whether it be on a sandy beach near the ocean, floating down the creek, or cruising the lake on a boat!

Some of my favorite things are the color purple, Mexican food, hibachi/sushi, and SalTea Sloth drinks. I enjoy anything sour and also love fountain Dr. Pepper. You can often find me browsing at Hobby Lobby or Target on the weekends.

We are going to have a fantastic year together!
