The Course
At CIS, Business Management is available as Standard Level or Higher Level. For both SL and HL, students cover 5 units:
Unit 01: Introduction to Business Management
Unit 02: Human Resource Management
Unit 03: Finance and Accounts
Unit 04: Marketing
Unit 05: Operations Management
Looking at this attached document - the subject overview, you can see more in depth what subject is covered and when. The SL and HL students are together for almost all the classes, however, when there is HL content only, the SL students are given private study to work on their other subjects. The SL students usually finish the content learning by the start of Quarter 03 in Grade 12, which gives them plenty of time to study for the Grade 12 mocks in February.
Assessment
Business Management has an Internal Assessment (IA), which can be refered to as coursework by some teachers. In addition to the IA, students have external exams to take - this year's Business Management exams will take place on Tuesday 27th April and Wednesday 28th April.
SL students have two exam papers to sit, while HL students have 3 papers to sit. You can see the Assessment Model in the inforgrphic here >>>
