Continue with your extracurriculars, perhaps narrowing down to what aligns with your career goals if your academics are now demanding more time.
If you are doing a CAS project, consider what might align with your passions and future goals.
Start narrowing down your university list if that is the route you´re choosing to go. Alternatively, look into GAP year programs and internship options.
Discuss practical considerations for future plans as a family.
Meet with program/university reps when they visit CIS
Take the PSAT if considering US universities
Consider visiting universities you're interested and get a feel for what you like or want in a program. FInalize your university list and attend applicable Future Planning Lunch & Learns so you're aware of deadlines, what you need to prepare, academic requirements, etc.
Request teacher references/recommendations (generally, you may need 2-3). Write your notes in Unifrog for both your teachers and your Future Planning Counsellor.
Attend the university fair at CIS as well as the Careers Day fair
Plan for any entrance exams or courses needed (OxBridge, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine/science courses, Physics, etc.)
Take the SAT if considering US universities
Create/update resume/CV
Evaluate your final university/program list based on your final grades for the year. Compare your qualifications to university requirements. We recommend having a list of 3-5 universities to apply to, with a balance of a "reach" school that may be difficult to get into, one "match" where you're on par with requirements, and one "safety" where you should be well above qualification requirements.
Over the summer, organize yourself and consider starting things like personal statements, so you´re ready for your first deadline in the fall of 12th grade (things will move quickly and there will be a lot to do!).
