Resúmenes/Abstracts

Todos los resúmenes serán arbitrados por el Comité Científico del Simposio.

 Los trabajos podrán ser presentados en modalidad oral o cartel, lo que deberá señalarse claramente por el autor para correspondencia al momento de su registro. Si la cantidad de resúmenes enviados para exponer oralmente excede el número previsto, el comité tomará la decisión final de la modalidad de presentación. De existir cambios se notificará con antelación, vía correo electrónico, al autor para correspondencia.

Guía para los autores

Para agilizar el proceso de revisión y publicación de los resúmenes, invitamos a los autores a seguir las instrucciones que se exponen a continuación:

1) Los resúmenes deberán escribirse en Word, con interlineado sencillo, fuente Times New Roman, en español, portugués o en inglés.

2) El título será conciso e informativo, precisando el lugar geográfico (incluido el país) y la edad del material referido (de ser el caso). Estará escrito en negritas y centrado, con un tamaño de fuente de 14 p.

3) Un espacio.

4) El nombre del (los) autor(es) sin título, comenzará con los apellidos seguidos del (los) nombre(s) sin abreviarse. Estará centrado y con un tamaño de fuente de 12 p.

5) Un espacio.

6) Las direcciones postales incluirán: la institución de adscripción, la ciudad, el estado, el país y la dirección de e-mail. Estarán centradas y con un tamaño de fuente de 10 p. Se utilizarán superíndices para relacionar autores y adscripciones.

7) Dos espacios.

8) El texto del resumen deberá incluir el o los objetivos, el método, los resultados y las conclusiones en un solo párrafo de un máximo de 500 palabras, justificado, con interlineado sencillo y con un tamaño de fuente de 11 p. El margen superior será de 2.5 cm, inferior de 2.5 cm y laterales de 3 cm. Las palabras en un idioma diferente al del resumen se deberán escribir en cursiva. No incluir referencias, figuras o tablas.

Recepción de resúmenes

La recepción de resúmenes será a partir del 1 de mayo y hasta el 25 de agosto de 2023, en los correos de sara@ciencias.unam.mx (Sara Islas Graciano) y saqb@ciencias.unam.mx (Sara Quiroz-Barroso). Favor de enviar el resumen a ambos correos, señalando quién será el autor encargado de la presentación y escribiendo resumen-simposio en el asunto del mensaje. El archivo adjunto deberá estar nombrado con el apellido del primer autor seguido de et al. (si es el caso) y agregar numeración si se envía más de un resumen (ejemplo: Hernández et al._1). Si no recibe confirmación de la recepción del resumen en dos días, favor de comunicarse con Sara Islas. El trabajo será considerado para el simposio una vez que se confirme el registro de al menos el autor que presentará el trabajo.

Presentaciones orales

Consistirán en una exposición de 15 minutos, seguidos de 5 minutos para preguntas y discusiones. Los moderadores serán los encargados de controlar el tiempo, por lo que se recomienda planear bien su presentación para evitar su interrupción. El material audiovisual deberá estar en formato Microsoft Power Point o en PDF.

Presentaciones en cartel

El tamaño deberá ser de 90 cm de ancho y 120 cm de alto. El autor encargado de la presentación del trabajo deberá permanecer en la sala de exhibición durante la sesión de carteles para poder recibir preguntas o comentarios por parte del público.

Nota: Los trabajos en extenso se publicarán como un número especial de la revista Journal of South American Earth Sciences. Las indicaciones para la presentación de estos trabajos se darán a conocer en la siguiente circular.

The Scientific Committee of the Symposium will referee all abstracts

Papers may be presented in oral or poster format, which should be clearly indicated by the author for correspondence at the time of registration. If the number of abstracts submitted for oral presentation is excessive, the committee will make the final decision on the mode of presentation. If there are any changes, the corresponding author will be notified in advance via e-mail.

Guide for authors

To facilitate the abstract review and publication process, we invite authors to follow the instructions below:

1) Abstracts should be written in Word, single space; Times New Roman font, in Spanish, Portuguese, or English.

2) The title should be concise and informative, specifying the geographical location (including the country) and the age of the material referred to (if applicable). It shall be written in bold and centered, with a font size of 14 p.

3) A space.

4) The name(s) of the author(s) without title, beginning with the surname(s) followed by the first name(s) without abbreviations. It will be centered and with a font size of 12 p.

5) Single space.

6) Postal addresses for authors shall include: the institution of affiliation, city, state, country and e-mail address. They shall be centered and in 10 p. font size. Superscripts should be used to relate authors and affiliations.

7) Two spaces.

8) The text of the abstract should include the objective(s), method, results and conclusions in a single paragraph of a maximum of 500 words, justified, single-spaced, and with a font size of 11 p. The upper margin should be 2.5 cm . The upper and lower margin should be 2.5 cm, and the lateral margin 3 cm. Words in a language other than that of the abstract should be written in italics. Do not include references, figures, or tables.

Receipt of abstracts

The reception of abstracts will be from May 1 until August 25, 2023, to the following e-mail addresses: sara@ciencias.unam.mx (Sara Islas Graciano) and saqb@ciencias.unam.mx (Sara Quiroz-Barroso). Please send the abstract to both e-mails, indicating who will be the author in charge of the presentation and writing abstract-symposium in the subject of the message. The attached file should be named with the last name of the first author followed by et al. (if applicable) and add numbering if more than one abstract is sent (e.g.: Hernández et al._1). If you do not receive confirmation of receipt of the abstract within two days, please contact Sara Islas. The paper will be considered for the symposium once the registration of at least one presenting author is confirmed.

Oral Presentations

These will consist of a 15-minute presentation, followed by 5 minutes of questions and discussion. The moderators will oversee the time, so it is recommended to plan your presentation well to avoid interruptions. The audiovisual material should be in Microsoft Power Point or PDF format.

Poster presentations

The size should be 90 cm wide and 120 cm high. The author in charge of the presentation must remain in the exhibition room during the poster session to receive questions or comments from the audience.

Note: Full papers will be published as a special issue of the Journal of South American Earth Sciences. Indications for the presentation of these papers will be announced in the following circular.
