In response to questions asked by attendees, we share the following information:

• Si llegan al aeropuerto de Puerto Escondido, hay dos opciones para llegar a su hospedaje: dentro del aeropuerto pueden contratar el servicio de taxi particular o colectivo; debido a que los precios pueden ser elevados, pueden salir hacia la carretera y tomar un taxi a su destino, generalmente, las cuotas son más baratas. 

• If you arrive at the Puerto Escondido airport, there are two options to get to your accommodation: inside the airport, you can hire a private or collective taxi service; because prices can be high, they can hit the road and take a taxi to their destination, generally, the fees are cheaper.

• Si necesitan un taxi en Puerto Escondido, pueden llamar al 9545820990 o 9541281620, al sitio de taxis Puerto Escondido. No hay servicios de Uber o Didi en la ciudad.

• If you need a taxi in Puerto Escondido, you can call 9545820990 or 9541281620, to the Puerto Escondido taxi site. There are no Uber or Didi services in the city.

• Se les recuerda que el Curso “Fundamentos de Secuencias Estratigráficas” se impartirá el martes 21 y miércoles 22, de 15:30 a 18:30, por los ingenieros Javier Arellano Gil y José Luis Arcos Hernández, en las instalaciones de la Universidad del Mar, campus Puerto Escondido. Será gratuito, pero deben registrarse previamente. Favor de enviar un mensaje directamente a la Dra. Rosalía Guerrero (rosaliaga@zicatela.umar.mx), a la brevedad, avisando su asistencia al mismo.

• You are reminded that the Course “Fundamentals of Stratigraphic Sequences” will be taught on Tuesday the 21st and Wednesday the 22nd, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., by the engineers Javier Arellano Gil and José Luis Arcos Hernández, at the facilities of the University of Mar, Puerto Escondido campus. It will be free, but you must register in advance. Please send a message directly to Dr. Rosalía Guerrero (rosaliaga@zicatela.umar.mx), as soon as possible, notifying her of her attendance.

• Se sugiere preparar la presentación oral / cartel en idioma Inglés, o insertar textos en inglés, para facilitar la comprensión de la misma por parte de todos los participantes al evento.

• It is suggested to prepare the oral presentation/poster in English or insert texts in English, to facilitate its understanding by all participants in the event.

• Debido a lo ajustado del programa, es importante la puntualidad. Las presentaciones orales tendrán una duración de 15 minutos y cinco minutos más para responder preguntas. Solicitamos su apoyo para respetar los tiempos asignados y cumplir con todas las actividades programadas.

• Due to the tight schedule, punctuality is important. Oral presentations will last 15 minutes with an additional five minutes to answer questions. We request your support to respect the assigned times and comply with all scheduled activities.

• La presentación de los carteles será el viernes 24 de noviembre, pero estarán en exhibición durante todo el evento, por lo que es importante que se acerquen al personal del staff, quienes les ayudarán a pegarlo durante el martes 21.

• The presentation of the posters will be on Friday, November 24, but they will be on display throughout the event, so it is important that you approach the staff, who will help you stick it up during Tuesday the 21st.

• La Universidad del Mar no permite el acceso a bebés ni a niños pequeños a sus instalaciones, ya que no cuenta con la infraestructura necesaria para ellos. Del mismo modo, se les informa que está prohibido fumar en el campus e introducir alimentos y bebidas al auditorio. El Comité Organizador del SLIC agradece su comprensión.

• The Universidad del Mar does not allow babies or small children access to its facilities, since it does not have the necessary infrastructure for them. Likewise, you are informed that smoking is prohibited on campus and bringing food and drinks into the auditorium is prohibited. The SLIC Organizing Committee appreciates your understanding.

• Clima: debido a que la temporada de lluvias se alargó este año en Puerto Escondido, es recomendable que los asistentes usen repelente de insectos durante su estancia en esta ciudad. Durante los días del congreso se prevén temperaturas máximas de 30°-31°C (con sensación térmica de 32° C). Tomen sus precauciones.

• Climate: because the rainy season was extended this year in Puerto Escondido, it is recommended that attendees use insect repellent during their stay in this city. During the days of the congress, maximum temperatures of 30°-31°C are expected (with a wind chill of 32° C). Take your precautions.

• La Excursión intracongreso se efectuará el jueves 23 de noviembre. Es importante considerar el uso de bloqueador solar, sombrero, manga larga y zapatos cómodos para caminar por la playa, así como traje de baño si se desea. Durante la excursión sólo se brindarán snacks y agua. La comida de la excursión correrá por cuenta de cada participante en los restaurantes ubicados en la zona de la segunda parada.

• The intra-congress Excursion will take place on Thursday, November 23. It is important to consider using sunscreen, a hat, long sleeves, and comfortable shoes for walking on the beach, as well as a swimsuit if desired. During the excursion, only snacks and water will be provided. The food on the excursion will be at the expense of each participant in the restaurants located in the second stop area.

• El Brindis de Bienvenida y la Cena de Clausura están incluidos para aquellos que pagaron su cuota de inscripción, así como para los acompañantes que hayan realizado su pago (65 dlls). Este pago incluye el brindis de bienvenida, excursión intracongreso y cena de clausura. Para tener un mejor control de los asistentes, les pedimos lleven su gafete al restaurante, con el fin de identificarlos rápidamente.

• The Welcome Toast and Closing Dinner are included for those who paid their registration fee, as well as for companions who have made their payment (65 dollars). This payment includes the welcome toast, intra-congress excursion and closing dinner. To have better control of attendees, we ask them to bring their badge to the restaurant, to quickly identify them.

• Bebidas adicionales a las que se ofrecen durante el brindis de bienvenida y en la cena de clausura (alcohólicas o no) las deberá pagar cada consumidor.

• Additional drinks other than those offered during the welcome toast and at the closing dinner (alcoholic or not) must be paid for by each consumer.

• Próximamente, se abrirá la convocatoria para la publicación de los trabajos in extenso en el número especial del Journal of South American Earth Sciences. La fecha límite para someter trabajos será el 30 de abril de 2024.

• Soon, the call will be opened for the publication of works in extenso in the special issue of the Journal of South American Earth Sciences. The deadline to submit works will be April 30, 2024
