The purpose of this course is to provide students with an introduction to micro and macroeconomics . It will provide a useful foundation for students who want to go on to business-oriented post-secondary studies and for those who want to simply understand how our world in terms of scarcity, transactions, and government policies. Put briefly, this course will show how scarcity creates incentives for decisions on how to allocate resources through trade and how competition in the marketplace leads to changes in prices and an increase in specialization and (hopefully) our standard of living in general. We will also take a close look at the ways money is used as a rationing device and the different roles that governments can play in various economic systems. Finally, we will examine fiscal and monetary policy with an emphasis on the United States.
12 Grade Personal Fiance The NGPF Personal Finance Semester Course equips students with vital money management skills. Covering topics like banking, budgeting, credit, investing, and career planning, it helps students understand financial concepts and apply them to real-world situations. This engaging course prepares students to make informed decisions and confidently navigate their financial futures after graduation. I will be integrating lessons from the NGPF Semester curriculum that do not already overlap with the material taught in economics. There is no textbook for the course as we will use a variety of resources as we progress.
