In 2018, as per norms of Innovation Cell, Ministry of HRD, Goverment of India, Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) established "Institution Innovation Council (IIC), University Of Delhi" . It was rated 4-Stars in 2018-19.
Cluster Innovation Centre has won the first prize in Smart India Hackathon 2020 in software category. The team members are Rishabh Jain (B.Tech III year), Ashish Jha (B.Tech IV year), Rohit Rana (B.Tech IV year), Yatharth (B.Tech III year), Prabhakar Deep (B.Tech III year) and Bhawana (B.Tech II year).

CaptionPlus an app created by Anurag Singh, student of first Batch of B. Tech. (IT &MI) (2011-15) was adjudged the best app in Entertainment category from all across India in AatmaNirbharChallenge 2020 hosted by Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India.
Two Students of first B. Tech. (IT & Mathematical Innovation) passed out in 2015, namely Madhulika Mukharjee and Tushar Mishra successfully raised $3 million (24 Crore) fund in seed round for their company Delightree, a workflow automation app for bussiness in 2019. The duo earlier in 2016 founded CEM software company Survaider where they worked with over 3,000 franchise stores.
Rohit Upadhyaya, student of second batch of M.Sc. (Mathematics Education) (2013-15) is working as Mentor teacher at Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi.
On 24 August 2019, CIC students and faculty organised TEDxDUCIC Talks in University of Delhi.
