Prof. Pankaj Tyagi : Brief Introduction

I am a faculty member at the Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC), University of Delhi. I joined this premier institution as a Professor on 12 March 2015. My academic and teaching interests include Physics, Electronics, Innovative Pedagogy, Vedic Mathematics & Information Technology.

I initially joined CIC on deputation as an Associate Professor in July 2012. On 11 October 2012, I was appointed Coordinator of India’s first Meta University concept–based programme, M.Sc. (Mathematics Education), jointly offered by the University of Delhi (DU) and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI). I served in this role until 25 February 2021.

I began my teaching career at Acharya Narendra Dev College, Govindpuri, Kalkaji, New Delhi–110019 in July 1995 and continued there until 2012. From January to July 2012, I served on deputation as a Fellow in Physics at the Institute of Lifelong Learning (ILLL). In July 2012, I joined CIC, University of Delhi.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Physics (Honours) from Hans Raj College,  University of Delhi, followed by a postgraduate degree M. Sc. (Physics with Electronics) from the Department of Physics & Astrophysics, University of Delhi. I later earned my Ph.D. in Physics (Optical Properties of Thin Films) from the same department.

My academic contributions include over twenty research papers published in peer-reviewed journals, more than twenty books for school curriculum and general science, several conference papers, and numerous invited talks on innovative pedagogy. I have also successfully completed multiple research projects, including a national-level project on Gifted Children Education, sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

In 2015, I was honoured with the Teaching Excellence Award for Innovation by the University of Delhi for my innovation project work.
