We have a small amount of money we can issue to students struggling to meet their basic living costs. Eligibility is based on an assessment of household income and expenditure. You may be eligible for an East Sussex College Higher Education bursary of up to £500. Full details can be found in our Access and Participation Plan.
Please submit your application as soon as possible after opening date to avoid disappointments. Awards are made on a first come first served basis.
You are eligible for a bursary if you fall into one or more of the following categories:
Your household income is below £25,000 per year
You are from a minority ethnicity
Your permanent home address is in an under-represented area in Higher education (POLAR 4 Quintile 1 or 2 area)
You are in receipt of Disabled Students Allowance
Students with income from £25,000—£42,875 will receive a maximum of £300. (pro-rata for part-time student). Usually paid in 2 instalments in December and March subject to attendance. Students will need to reapply in each year of study.
If you are repeating a year, use the year you first started the course, even if you then intermitted.
To apply for a bursary, you need to complete an online application and submit the required evidence.
