Taking small steps can make a big difference 💙
This week is Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, a time to raise awareness about how cervical cancer can be prevented and detected early.
Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable types of cancer. Regular cervical screening (smear tests) can detect changes early, often before symptoms appear, and the HPV vaccine helps protect against the most common causes of cervical cancer.
What you can do:
Attend your cervical screening when invited (usually from age 25 in the UK)
Check you’re registered with a GP so you receive screening invites
Learn about HPV and how vaccination helps protect you and others
Talk openly and help reduce the stigma around cervical health
If you’re unsure about screening, feeling anxious, or want more information, support is available. You can speak to your GP, practice nurse, or visit trusted organisations.Â
Taking care of your health is important - not just this week, but all year round. 💙
