Behaviour Curriculum
Grow, learn, serve and pray in a Catholic community inspired by the Gospel message, enabling all to realise their unique hopes and potential. The CTK Way prepares our pupils for their future to be positive, well-rounded citizens that successfully contribute to the school and community we live in. The CTK Way equips our pupils to deal with failure and celebrate success - “The Power to Act”
Aims of the Behaviour Curriculum
We wish to promote a purposeful atmosphere throughout school which is conducive to effective teaching and learning.
We encourage everybody in school to be calm, courteous, considerate and relate well to each other.
We encourage all pupils to show through their actions that they know the difference between acceptable and unacceptable behaviour.
We expect pupils to take responsibility for their actions and in doing so develop self esteem and self discipline.
We encourage any parents/carers to be involved in partnering the school to ensure good behaviour by all of our pupils.
We expect all CTK Pupils to be ready, respectful and safe.
How do we teach our Behaviour Curriculum?
We IDENTIFY the behaviour we expect
We explicitly TEACH the behaviour we expect
We MODEL the behaviour we are expecting
We PRACTICE the behaviour that we expect
We CELEBRATE excellent behaviour
We CREATE the right conditions for excellent behaviour
Why do we teach our Behaviour Curriculum?
Teaching pupils the values of the school, readiness to learn and respect for others are essential for pupils to flourish in their relationships with others and their academic success. At Christ the King High School and Sixth Form Centre all students are taught what good conduct is to create a positive environment where everyone can flourish. The Pupils are taught the curriculum at regular intervals and throughout the half term including recall activities to ensure the learning is embedded .
