PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The degree program described herein shall be called Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA). According to CMO no.17 series of 2017, Five distinct majors, or specializations, may be offered under the BSBA program: Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Financial Management, Operations Management and Business Economics.

HEIs may offer other major, subject to the approval of the Commission, provided that the minimum curricular requirements for core business and management education courses, business administration core courses and major and elective courses are met.

The graduates of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College shall be able to:

1.) Perform management functions operationally and competently

2.) Innovate business ideas based on emerging industries

3.) Use appropriate tools to solve business problems

4.) Demonstrate a sense of corporate citizenship and social responsibility when making individual and team decisions

5.) Apply ICT skills as required by the business environment

6.) Exercise moral and ethical standards when making decisions

7.) Communicate clearly in oral and written forms

8.) Practice gender sensitivity

9.) Show sense of patriotism in words and in deeds

10.) Conduct business research

The curriculum for BSBA covers a balanced treatment of functional areas in human resource management, marketing, finance, operations and economics. It broadens the knowledge and skills for local and international business environment. The subjects under the General Education (GE) courses are as per CHED memorandum no. 20 series of 2013. This curriculum is vertically aligned with the accounting, business and management (ABM) strand of the senior high school academic track. For students who did not take the ABM academic strand, HEIs should offer bridging courses such as the specialization courses in K-12 ABM strand, but not limited to said courses to make them at par with those who have taken the ABM academic stand and comply with K-12 requirements. New program offering under Business Management cluster (allied) must offer the 6 units common business and management courses. The HEIs may be allowed to credit subjects/course taken by students abroad provided they have the same required number of units and course description (CMO 17 s 2017, Article V, section 8).
