The Extension Project of the faculty members of the Department of Business Administration entitled “Exploring Value-Chain of the Agricultural Products for Sustainable Business for 4H Anahaw Integrated Young Farmers and Workers Association” aims to provide partners educational learning on simple bookkeeping and proper costing of the product that would lead to sustainability of the business enterprise. The project team, which includes BSBA faculty and students, will provide seminars/training and education that will provide proper bookkeeping and costing of products in order to have sustainability in the businesses. Such activities would give rise to expansion, employment generation, and income generation for others in the community.
The extension project supports several SDGs by the UN such as the SDG 2.3 which aims to double the agricultural productivity and incomes of small-scale food producers through equal access to productive resources and inputs, knowledge, financial services, markets and opportunities for value addition and nonfarm employment; and SGD 8 which promotes sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all through development-oriented policies, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro, small and medium sized enterprises, including through access to financial services.
To provide beneficiaries educational learning on simple bookkeeping and proper costing of the product that would lead to sustainability of business enterprise.
By the end of the seminar, the beneficiaries should be able to:
1. Effectively and efficiently manage their financial resources.
2. Apply learned knowledge to agri-businesses leading to a sustainable business enterprise that shows growth and development.
3. Generate income and employment to the community.
The results of the needs assessment on the training wanted by the community for their livelihood are shown in the infographics below. 21 respondents were asked to answer the evaluation form for the Needs Assessment. Based on the results, these are their top choices. 17 out of 21 or 80.95% of the respondents wished to have training in Food Technology. 16 out of 21, or 76.19%, want training in Hotel and Restaurant Servicing, while 13 out of 21, or 61.90%, want training in both Computer Education and Accounting.
The results of the needs assessment on the help wanted by the community to increase their knowledge are shown in the infographics below. 21 respondents were asked to answer the evaluation form for the Needs Assessment. Based on the results, these are their top choices. 19 out of 21, or 90.48% of the respondents wished to increase their knowledge of Health, 17 out of 21, or 80.95%, and want to increase their knowledge of First Aid, 14 out of 21, or 66.67%, want to increase their knowledge in Hygiene. On the other hand, Literacy, Capability Building, and Solid Waste Management received the same results of 61.90%.

Based on the results, these are their top choices. 16 out of 21, or 76.19% of the respondents, wished to have a Medical Mission and Feeding Program for their community, and 13 out of 21, or 61.90%, wanted help for waste segregation in their community. 12 out of 21, or 57.14%, on the other hand, wanted help in Peace Order and Cooperative for their community.

November 4, 2021
A meeting for possible collaboration with other departments and units was conducted on November 4, 2021. The Program Leader presented the IT department's plan to conduct an extension program and proposed a collaborative extension with other departments. From here, possible extension projects and training were considered to be included under the umbrella of the department's extension program.
December 10, 2021
The proposals for the extension program and projects were finalized during the meeting on December 10, 2022. The results of the Needs Assessment were greatly considered during the finalization of the proposals.
November 19, 2021
The ECS-COF conducted an orientation for the members of the COMPUTER Program on November 19, 2021, since most members are fairly new to conducting extension and community services. The orientation included topics on how to use the different forms and documents of the Office of the Extension and Community Services and how to properly conduct an extension program or project.

March 25, 2022
Launching of the extension program and MOA signing was conducted on March 25, 2022. The Launching program started with a Clean-up drive at the farm of 4H AIYFAWA, followed by Zumba and presentations of the 5 extension projects.
A short program for Women's Month was also conducted by the GAD Grace extension project members and other members of the COMPUTER program and extension partners. Different activities and games were prepared for women and young farmers of 4H AIYFAWA.
MOA Signing was done in the afternoon with the Punong Brgy. Freddie V. Mongcal of Brgy. Anahaw and the founders of 4H AIYFAWA.
