To enhance faculty members’ performance development holistically, CHMSU designed and implemented the following programs or interventions:
RA 4670, Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order and other laws provide for the benefits, privileges and incentives for the promotion and improvement of the well-being and economic status of the faculty.
The benefits, privileges, and incentives of the faculty include clothing/uniform allowance, 14th-month pay / mid-year bonus -1-month basic salary, 13th-month pay/year-end bonus -1-month basic salary, cash gift, Enhanced Performance-Based Bonus (PBB), Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI), Personal Relief Economic Allowance (PERA) - p2,000 monthly, anniversary bonus, and Proportional Vacation Pay (PVP),
In addition, the faculty can also enjoy other benefits and privileges such as tuition discounts for faculty dependents, sabbatical leave, compensatory leave credit, thesis/ dissertation aid, leave of absence, vacation leave, sick leave, leave credits for designees, study leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, and parental leave.
The CHMSU Faculty and Staff Development Program (FSDP) is an initiative to support the professional development endeavors of the CHMSU faculty and staff. The program identifies the guidelines/criteria for the selection of the faculty members who intend to upgrade in terms of their professional expertise.
The University is also supportive of the research initiatives of the faculty members, and the FSDP allows other opportunities for the development of the faculty member in terms of support to their attendance at trainings, seminars, conferences, and other opportunities for growth and development
In addition, the faculty manual identifies the privileges which are available for the CHMSU member of the faculty of instruction.
The faculty members ensure that as part of their growth inside and outside of the academe, they also avail of membership in professional organizations in their field of expertise. As a member of the academic community who wanted are mandated to deliver quality instruction, the faculty members' engagement into their professional organizations provide ample opportunity for exposure to global updates on their area of specialization, thereby ensuring that their skills and expertise as an academician are levelled up as well.
The core faculty members of the BEED program have the appropriate preparation for teaching in the program in terms of degree preparation, license and adequate academic advancement as well. This preparedness and adequacy is presented herein in the faculty matrix.
The faculty members are regularly monitored in their performance thru the faculty evaluation.
Thru the Faculty and Staff Development Program (FSDP), the faculty members are encouraged to pursue higher academic degrees relevant to their specialization. In addition, they are also given opportunities to attend trainings, seminars and conferences to further their interests aligned with their expertise.
Two of the four (50%) members of the core and professional faculty have doctorates in hand. While the other two ( 50%) hold master's degrees and are in their dissertation activities. Five faculty members ( 29.4%) in the general education are qualified doctorates and 17 ( 70.6%) have masters degrees. all the faculty members of the BEED Program are regular and Licensed Professional Teachers.
CHMSU affirms that there is a need to develop all aspect of the individual faculty so that he/she is able to deliver the kind of education CHMSU envisions. Therefore, faculty members are provided with opportunities to develop, evolve and grow thru participation in different activities like mental wellness activities and other personality development opportunities.
Newly hired faculty undergoes orientation to be aware of policies. Moreover, faculty members are sent to attend the Integrity, Transparency, and Accountability in the Public Service (ITAPS) seminar.
A continuous weekly activity organized by the Office of the Guidance Services - CHMSC Binalbagan Campus on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. which showcased positive and supportive environment by reducing tension and anxiety in the academic realm.
The program included introduction of relaxation techniques, nutrition and lifestyle, art therapy, and meditation, among others. Please see attached document for details.
a. To facilitate holistic development of our clients through bio-psycho-social, emotional and spiritual activities.
b. To establish and strengthen relationships between and among our stakeholders and linkages.
c. To provide an online platform for health (especially mental health) promotion and illness prevention via creative and informative psycho-educational approach.
d. To create positive and supportive environment by reducing tension and anxiety in the workplace and academic realm.

This special program is slated online every Tuesday at 3:00-4:00 pm as an energy booster for midweek hype of duties and responsibilities around us. It will be launched on AY 2021 and will be facilitated continuously as special program under the Office of Guidance Services.
Participation in trainings and seminars are made available for the faculty members since they are honed and prepared well to become catalysts within and outside of the institution. Making a change in the world means making a change in one's self first, and CHMSU prepares the faculty members for the role. Therefore, opportunities to attend and join local or international trainings and seminars to hone their skills are made available for the faculty members.
Health services which is manned by competent staff, like physicians, nurses, doctors and dentists are available for the faculty members. These specialists are available to cater to the health services needs of the faculty members, ensuring that they get access to health care services which will also become supportive of their role in the institution.
The medical services of Binalbagan campus are managed by medical doctor ,Dr. Kriska Salangsang, who was hired on a part-time basis. She is assisted by a licensed nurse Geraldine Edano. Dental services are available and managed by a licensed dentist, Dr. Carmelo Florete.
The medical and dental clinics have adequate facilities, ventilation, and lighting and provide basic first aid and emergency services. Other services include faculty health assessment, emergency referral, emergency treatment, and immediate medication. Annual health orientation (face-to-face and virtual) and online transaction/referrals are conducted on health issues and concerns, especially during the pandemic.

A sense of collaboration is enhanced and emphasized among faculty members through their active involvement in activities such as Extension Community Services, iSO internal Audit Team, by participation in working committees during CHED/OIQCAG (Universityhood) and AACCUP Accreditation, graduation rites, and sports and cultural events.
