The involvement of students in extension program not only provided them opportunities to be aware of, and understand the needs and problems that are relevant on both local and national levels, but it also gave them opportunities to involve themselves in activities designed to develop the community and the less privileged.

Participation by stakeholders leads to empowerment and to joint ownership of the project. To increase participation, the project should start with a consultation process that moves to negotiations and ends with joint decisions.

Letter Request from the School Principal
Prior to the conduct of extension program, a letter request indicating their needs from the stakeholder is a must. It will serve as a pivotal in the making of proposal.

THE NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Needs assessment is an important process in learning the need/s of the beneficiary. It will help the implementers in designing the planning, implementation, and assessment of the learning program.
REPORT OF INVOLVEMENT
The report of involvement in every extension activity is very essential for it tracts the development of the project/ program being implemented. People become interested and give better support to the program when they are well-aware of its progress.
The Report of Involvement will give an update as to the progress of the implementation of the program.

Extension is one of the mandates of HEI's along with instruction and research, it is the act of communicating and transferring knowledge and technology to specific sectors and target clientele to improve production, community and/ or institutions, and quality of life at the same time enhance the HEIs academic and research programs (CMO No. 8 series of 2008).Therefore, participating in its implementation is non-optional.
