ASSIGNMENTS- There will be a mixture of paper and Schoology/online assignments this year in Math. Assignments will be posted on the assignment board in class for students to write down in their planners (see planners part below).
HOMEWORK-The only homework students will have will be anything they do not finish in school during work time or if they aren't on pace with their assigned work. Students are given ample time to get work done in school and should not have homework unless they are not using class time wisely or if they are absent. I also prefer that they read nightly.
PLANNERS-Students will be supplied with a planner to be used for assignments. I require students to use the planners daily to record any work that we did throughout the day and so you know what they completed and what they need to finish. I will stamp their planner to indicate if they completed the assignment that day or not. ππ»ππ»
ABSENCESβ As stated in the student handbook: Except in unusual circumstances, a student will have two days for each day of absence to complete make-up work. Arrangements for an extension may be made with individual teachers. If a student will be absent β due to illness β for three days or more, on request from the parent, homework can be obtained from classroom teachers.
Pre-excused absences are permitted for certain occasions. To obtain such an excuse, the student must bring written permission from his/her parents several days in advance of the planned absence. A written parent permission is to be presented to the office. Students that know about absences in advance (i.e. vacations, appointments, school activities or other school events, etc.) shall be responsible to get the homework in advance and have it completed upon their return to school. This includes tests, quizzes, papers, projects, etc.Β
